The contact owns a 2005 ford f-150. the consumer stated the driver's side window fell into the door, then the front passenger side window fell into the door a few months later. the dealer replaced the regulator assembly on the front driver's side window at no charge because it was still under warranty. the front passenger window was not covered because the warranty had just run out. the driver's side rear window glass fell inside the door in 2010. the back window quit working just after the warranty ran out. we never got it repaired. each repair cost us over $300.

Tl-the contact owns a 2005 ford f-150. while driving approximately 55 mph he rolled the front drivers side window up. once the window was all the way up he heard a loud bang and the window dropped down into the door panel and shattered. the vehicle was taken to an authorize dealer where he was informed a cable within the door panel broke and it was repaired. approximately 2 years later the failure recurred on the front passenger side window, however the window did not shatter this time. the vehicle was not yet taken to be examined for the cause of failure and was not repaired. the failure mileage was 20,000 and the current mileage was 40,000. sm.

Window failure/falling into door: 1. no known specific event, car was parked when failure occurred without human intervention. 2. driver side front window falling into door and passenger side rear window failure. luckily driver side window has not broken/shattered, but has only fallen into door and did not distract driver when driving in traffic. 2a. after inspecting each window also found passenger rear window is loose and freely moves. 3. dealer explained problem is common and likely that it is the window regulator and/or components. dealer is charging $450 to repair driver side window

Passenger side electric window on our 2005 ford f-150 supercab simply fell down while my wife was working. we rarely use the passenger window at all. i have read a plethora of such occurrences on www.carcomplaints.com. i feel this is a safety issue. the windows can fall at any time - even when the vehicle is parked. imagine being broken down in a very frigid place and trying to stay warm and bang - a window simply falls down. this should warrant an immediate recall. the parts that fail are cheap plastic clips used to guide cables with a lot of torque/tension on them. thank you very much. ronnie pierce *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 ford f150. the contact stated that the window regulators failed and caused the window to spontaneously fall into the door. he took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the regulator needed to be replaced at the cost of $300. in addition, the technician replaced the failed component with a new regulator of the same design. the vehicle is currently being repaired. the contact called the manufacturer and they acknowledged the failure; however, they would not assume responsibility since there was no recall. the failure mileage was 38,000 and current mileage was 46,000.

Driving around with windows down in my 2005 ford f-150 supercrew when i tried to roll up the front passenger window i heard an extremely loud bang that made me think that i had been hit by another vehicle. took the door panel apart and found the power window regulator cable was mangled and it had broken free from one of the window slides. when i tried to find the parts online i came across a forum on complaints.com. apparently hundreds of people are having the same problem, with the same loud pop or bang which is very startling and could potentially cause an accident. several of the people wrote that they have had this same problem with more than one door and even several times with each door. local ford dealership told me it is because of the heat in las vegas and they keep lots of them in stock because it is a very common failure. i think it is more than the heat though because people all over the country are reporting the same problem. *tr

The driver side window of my 2005 ford f-150 super crew made a loud popping noise then fell into the door, all when i pressed the button to roll it up. it had been locking up for several days on and off. cost to repair is about $300, so until i can afford it, the window is held in place with vice-grips. local ford dealership tells me that haven't heard of any such problems with this model, but i have found hundreds of complaints just like mine on the internet simply by typing 2005 ford f-150 window problems into google. *tr

2005 ford f150 lariat supercrew 4 door truck-failed power window regulator on passenger side door. power window switch was being used to raise window and the glass fell into the door panel making a loud bang. the noise was loud and i believed the glass had broken due to the noise. the window would no longer operate. the truck is only used for pleasure driving on occasion. the windows are seldom operated as air-conditioning is typically used. , the dealership service department is scheduled to repair this second failure in less than one month. problem is not unique to my truck. i have filed complaint with ford. *tr

Window controller fails with a loud banging noise. the noise is so distracting that it causes a possible accident situation. i was pulling a trailer at the time and the swerving caused fish tailing. there are thousands of documented failures of the ford window controller in 2005 vehicles and ford won't recall without nhtsa requiring it. *tr

2005 ford f150 supercrew 4 door truck-failed power window regulator (rear passenger side door/second regulator failure on this truck, different window). driving down the road when i hear a loud bang. the noise was loud and i could not be sure that something had not been thrown or shot at my truck. as i tried to understand the problem, i noticed the rear passenger side window falling into the door. this had happened before so i knew what to expect. the failure was a total surprise. the truck is only used for light yard-related work and does not go off road. the windows are seldom operated as air-conditioning is typically running in the heat of florida. this was the second event for this vehicle. once again, the dealership service department rep indicated the regulator is a new part in the f150 and the problem is not unique to my truck. the dealership replaced the regulator and indicated i should pass my complaint on to ford. *tr

2005 ford f150 supercrew 4 door truck-failed power window regulator (front driver's side door). driving down the road when i hear a loud bang. the noise was loud and i could not be sure that something had not been thrown or shot at my truck. as i tried to understand the problem, i noticed the driver's side window falling into the door. i tried to hold the window up while also trying to control the car. my dog, a 90 lb black labrador retriever was in the back seat area and when the window dropped open, he jumped to push his head out the now open window only adding more to the safety and control challenges. the failure was a total surprise. the truck is only used for light yard-related work and does not go off road. the windows are seldom operated as air-conditioning is typically running in the heat of florida. this was the first event for this vehicle. the dealership service department rep indicated the regulator is a new part in the f150 and the problem is not unique to my truck. the dealership repaired the regulator and indicated i should pass my complaint on to ford. *tr
