 Brand-new car - 2 days old. trying to merge into traffic on i-81 at night during light rain. engine stalled during acceleration attempt while merging from the on-ramp onto right lane of interstate, forcing 18-wheeler to brake to void crushing me. engine rumbled with very little power getting to the wheels, and recovered to normal driving mode within about one minute. scariest driving event in my decades of driving. internet research indicates that this seems to be a common problem with the 3.5l 6-cylinder ecoboost in humid weather, due to condensation in the intercooler being sucked into the engine, when accelerating sharply (such as merging into traffic, lane changes, etc., i.e., when full engine power is really needed). this will lead to fatalities eventually, if not fixed, but there seems to be no fix available from ford. *tr

 When accelerating the truck bogged. rpm of engine increase truck did not. let off gas and depressed truck began to shake violently. attempting to merge on interstate. had to pull over and shut truck off to return to normal. this has happened several occasions. i have documented each time it has happened with more details each time. ford has looked at truck several times. latest word is that they have a problem, started a tsb however there isn't a fix available. this is very dangerous when driving especially on the interstate when changing lanes or merging from ramp. there is not any warning and scares the devil out of the driver.

 While merging into traffic and accelerating, the engine stalled and the truck engine almost died.this has happened numerous times since, mainly when i accelerate quickly as in trying to pass a car. it could easily get someone killed. the dealer cannot duplicate the problem or come up with a fix because there are no codes showing even though the check engine light comes on when this happens i have checked the f150forum.com and its evident that this problem is rampant with this engine..

 Tl-the contact owns a 2012 ford f-150 crew cab. the contact stated that the vehicle did not come equipped with covers over the fender wells of the engine. the dealer was notified of the issue who stated to the contact that they no longer offered the feature and that he could purchase one at his expense of $300. the manufacturer was notified of the issue and confirmed the dealer

 Tl-the contact owns a 2012 ford f150 crew cab. the contact stated the vehicle did not come with any covers over the fender wells of the engine. the dealer was notified who stated they do not offer this feature anymore. he can purchase one at his own expense of cost him $300. the manufacturer was notified who stated he would have to purchase those covers at his own expense. they offered no other assistance. the failure mileage was 500. mw

 The ford mentioned above caught on fire in the morning around 3am and it caused damages to my car mazda mx-3 parked beside the ford. the ford was completely burned down. i believed it was the deactivation switch of the cruise control that caused the fire. for further detail of this incident, you can contact nationwide insurance and the claim number is 63-03-c-836118. thanks

 Major safety issue with f150 ecoboost trucks. hundreds of owners with this issue: http://www.f150forum.com/f38/2011-55-60mph-shuddering-possible-fix-128636/index145/ while taking off from t-intersection and turning left crossing oncoming traffic the truck started to take off then lost all power for approximately 3-5 seconds. this left my family and i sitting in the oncoming traffic lane on a blind corner. the truck did not die (i thought it did), i mashed accelerator to floor and truck did not respond whatsoever. my wife was screaming frantically at me asking what i was doing while i attempted to get the truck to move out of the oncoming lane. after approximately 5 seconds the truck regained power and accelerated normally. this has occurred 3x now and i am afraid to drive the truck but do and my wife will not drive it at all. several other owners of the ecoboost f150 have experience this precise problem. ford has done nothing to address the problem and has promised a fix for the last 3 months. while the truck has other major issues this specific problem is going to result in deaths. it's not a matter of if, but when.
