Defect Summary | Vehicle description: gasoline and diesel engine pickup trucks equipped with 8 foot beds, do not fully satisfy the requirements of fmvss no. 301, fuel system integrity. the fuel tank front strap isolator may not be properly positioned which could result in the strap cutting the tank during a 30 mph front barrier test, resulting in fuel spillage. | |||||||||||||||

2000 ford f250 leaked diesel fuel. *cc while returning from a trip the consumer noticed that the vehicle seemed to be using excessive amounts of fuel and was not getting the proper mileage. the consumer pulled over at a rest stop and notice fuel leaking. the entire undercarriage of the truck was covered in fuel. the consumer drove to the nearest auto parts store and replaced the plastic drain valve with a 3/8 bolt on the metal drain line. *nm | |||

Ihav egone to the dealership service department several times and asked for assistance with these problems. i have gotten no support from them. i have taken it in severn times and filled two dispute settelment claims. i am still waiting to hear from them, i feel we bought a thirty five thousand dollar headache! please help me to get this truck repaired or replaced. i feel we have given peninsula ford every opportunity to do the right thing, but they seem to not want to now that they have their money. i would not feel right selling this vehicle to someone,knowing that sooner or latter it will cause an accident, thanks for listening/helping. no safety defect listed. *ak (tiresize: 235/85r16) | |||
