We first had the front brakes pull right we had the truck in 2-3 times for that problem they finally fixed it. but now the brakes pull left. they do not know how to fix the problem. the engine/electrial problem. all of the sudden everything electical quits working. i didn't know how to classify this problem. they replace a module and it still happens. we are awaiting for them to fix again. on the tires one blew out in the middle of the night on a very dark road 1 mile from the house my husbad drove it home took it in the next day and the refused to fix because he drove on it. approx a month later we were on a road driving only approx 45 mph. my husband felt something when we were at a light,we pulled in to a store just passed the light got out and the back right tire had blown. we changed the tire took it in and they said they are not on a recall even through they clearly had the white ring all around the tire where it had come apart. we replaced the tires with cooper tires. we still have the tires. goodyear inspected and agreed it was due to poor manufacturing. on the warranty problems we contacted the manufacture arbitration board. they stated since we use the truck for business we can not have the truck replaced. no where in any of my documentation states that. if this were so we would not have bought the truck. the dealership knew we used the truck for business. the business consist of a handyman business. the most we do to the truck is put on miles.*ak (dot number: vnw81xl tiresize: 265 75r16)

Tires originally began bouncing at 18000 miles--have had to shave tires to keep form bouncing-i was complaining about the tires before the recall but firestone was deaf and said the shaving voided my warranty--but they would not do anything-i explained i was scared of these tires--then the recall came and i began trying to get help--went to riverside ford after they became involved and contacted firestone again and was assured my tires were fine after going to the ford service center in macon ga. now i have had a blow out on the right front tire on the interstate at 77mph crossed two lanes of traffic and ran a car off the road on to the grass to avoid me hitting him. have contacted firestone and threatened with a law suit and was told to get in line and good luck by one of the phone reps. riverside ford says if it is not in the recall they can't and won't don anything--please recall this tire before a child loses his life. thanks. *ak (tiresize: lt265xr16)( dot number: tire size: lt265xr16 )

Both my right and left front tires have developed sidewall failures-one at under 12000 miles and one at under 15000 miles. tires have developed large sidewall bubbles or convexities of around 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch in height. ford does not warranty the tires so i've had to deal with general tire. a person at the 800 phone number for general tire mentioned that this could be two isolated defects, perhaps a bad batch, or perhaps the tire selected by ford may not be appropriate for the weight of the vehicle. this is consistent with my concerns, as the truck has a diesel motor which is quite heavy, and both front tires developed the same problem early in the tires' treadwear. one tire dealer said he's seen it before, so i am concerned that the tire cannot stand up tot he weight of the diesel engine. ford says to contact general tire, and general tire will only warranty the individual tire as it fails. nobody seems to have the responsibility for warranting that the tire is appropriate for the vehicle. this may be two rare and isolated incidences, but i feel that 100% front tire failure is a safety concern that warrants looking into. i'd be interested in knowing what percentage of these tires are replaced on ford diesel-powered trucks, but only general tire knows the answer.*ak( dot number: tire size: lt235/85r1 )

Had just completed driving 280 miles on i-10 and temperature was approx. 100 degrees. tires were at 80 psi and had been checked prior to trip. exited off i-10 onto county road and then onto another secondary road. had just accelerated to 45 mph when i heard loud banging noise and and felt back end vibrate. pulled off road and stopped within 100 yards. found that right rear tire tread had completely separated from mounted tire and it was now wrapped around axle in one piece. the interior tire was destroyed and wheel was resting on shredded sidewall and rim. tires are 10 ply, e rated. inspection of entire separated tread revealed no punctures or other damage. vehicle often used to pull horse trailer. believe had tire tread separation occurred at highway speeds, collision/rollover could have resulted due to rapid tire deflation onto rim and tread wrapping around axle. am state police officer and have investigated multiple injury/fatality collisions involving firestone wilderness tires. tire separation in this incident appears to be similar.*ak

I was traveling eastbound on i-10 @ monroe st. in indio, california at approximately 65 mph. i felt the truck start to shake and vibrate, immediately started slowing down. i looked in my mirror and saw the tread come off . within 1 - 2 seconds, i heard a loud explosion when the tire blew up. as all this was happening, i was pulling off the road and stopping. when i did get stopped, i had traveled approximately 1/8 of a mile. looking back at the tire tread, i observed another vehicle striking the tire tread and knocking the tread into the center divider and unfortunately, felt it far too unsafe to try to cross two or three lanes of heavy traffic to retrieve the tread*ak.
