| Defect Summary | Certain federal-mogul replacement wheel hub assemblies with the brand names: national, carquest p/nos. 515020, 515021, 515025, 515053, 515054, 515059, and 515060, shipped between january 23, 2006, and december 20, 2007, sold for light duty and medium duty trucks. the inboard retention nut used to maintain hub bearing assembly can loosen resulting in an abs light indication, noise, and/or wheel separation. | |||||||||||||||

| Tl- the contact owns a 1999 ford 250. while driving at approximately 60 mph the contact noticed the vehicle began to wobble. through the drivers side mirror the contact noticed the tire had detached from the vehicle. the contact was able to stop the vehicle at the shoulder of the road before it hit the ground. the vehicle was towed to an auto repair shop for inspection by the insurance company and a mechanic. the mechanic stated the rear driver side rim had fatigued or disintegrated and caused the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was destroyed. the approximate failure mileage was 180,000. ds | |||
