VISIBILITY - WINDSHIELD

On nearly every f250/350 super duty i have seen in wy, there developes a crack in the windshield side to side about 5 inches up from the bottom, where the defroster hits. as many as i have seen, this seems to be a engineering or windshield defect. are there other reports of this?

Windshield wiper motor on my 2000 ford f250 truck was replaced (supposedly)by ford in 2002 due to a recall. here is the nhtsa reference:nhtsa campaign id: 01v258000 on 12/27/04, my vehicle had an electrical fire/burn/meltdown caused by the wipers not being able to return to the, park position by snow and ice. the wipers were in the,off position however. damage to the wiper motor assembly and the supplying wiring harness were evident, along with the distinct electrical burn smell throughout the vehicle( which is still present several days after initial incident). the wipers are now inoperable, making the vehicle inoperable due to safety concerns from lack of visibility (melting snow/road grime quickly make the windsheild very dirty). *ak
