| Defect Summary | Certain federal-mogul replacement wheel hub assemblies with the brand names: national, carquest p/nos. 515020, 515021, 515025, 515053, 515054, 515059, and 515060, shipped between january 23, 2006, and december 20, 2007, sold for light duty and medium duty trucks. the inboard retention nut used to maintain hub bearing assembly can loosen resulting in an abs light indication, noise, and/or wheel separation. | |||||||||||||||

| Noisy front right wheel grinding noise. unsafe to drive, the bearing had approx 3 inches of play and grinding on the rotor. replaced front hub assembly and bearing and brakes. the vehicle had the identical failure july 2010 on the left front wheel. mechanical failure that could result in death. | |||

| Ref odi number 10019141 further information on report is that the extended warranty would not cover cost of service estimate. extended warranty if from: first extended service corporation, p.o. box 130745, dallas, tx 75313 phone 1-800-527-3426, policy number is pma4 510002 dtd 11/17/2001, further when i called myself after the service rep called i requested in writing why they would not cover damage, and was told by first svc corp, that i had to request that information in writing to get answer back in writing. *nlm | |||

| Two busted axel bolts on right rear wheel were found in the hub cap by a ford technician during a 42,000 annual service. they were found because i requested a tire rotation. i was told that i would need to replace the hub, axel, 16 bolts and seal at a cost of 757.14 plus tax. *nlm | |||
