Ficm on my 6.0 super duty is causing running problems this is just another in a long list of issues ford is aware of, if the truck was to stop running during freeway speeds this may cause serious injury to my family due to loss of braking and stearing. i use this truck to tow a travel trailer and at this time i do not feel this truck is safe enough to do this. the local dealer wants $1200.00+ to repair this well known problem. i am not in the position to replace this vehicle. other problems replaced 4 egr in 50,000 miles

Extreme turbo lag with loss of power which caused vehicle not to shift through the gears, it is an automatic, unable to drive over 25mph and emitting a large cloud of black exhaust. incident occurred at approximately 100,000 miles luckily the turbo was able to be dis-assembled and cleaned with no internal damage at a rather high cost but still cheaper than a replacement. *tr

Vehicle stalls while driving very frequently, almost every time its driven. very dangerous to lose power while operating. we took the truck to a dealer who is installing new parts, which are covered under a recall of this exact make, model, year. we were informed by ford, that our truck was excluded due to being produced in the month prior to the recall begin date. recall is on 2004 ford f250 super duty 6.0 diesel, my truck exactly. everything stated in the recall is the same. same problem, same answer. it is costing around $1600.00 for the repairs. the recall number is 05v270000. obviously this recall should include a larger number of vehicles. *tr

My 2004 ford f250 super duty diesel had its turbo replaced in may 2005-it has been in and out of the dealership's garage on and off for the last year, stalling out at various speeds, we can not tow anything with out it blowing black smoke and cutting out. i am 1000 miles from the initial warranty the mechanic's have not fixed the problem i located a nhtsa recall which describes the problem to the tee. ford motor company representatives told me that my vehicle's vin wasn't included in the recall so i have to pay out of my pocket for the correction. even though i am still under warranty, and the consequences of summary states: if the engine stalls, a crash could occur. which could endanger my family and possibly someone else. *nm

I have a problem when my f250 diesel runs at 1200-1500rpm, the engine seems to shutter and loads up. it sometimes seems to start to stall out and lose power. the dealer has had the vehicle in their service department six times and can not find the problem. they have changes the exhaust sensor and remap the computer with no luck. they have test driven the truck and had the problem occur. the vehicle is becoming dangerous to drive because of the lose of power in traffic. i have had a couple of close rearend collisons becasue of the problem. nothing has been done to correct the problem. the dealer can not find the problem and has advised me to keep driving it at my risk. hoping to find a fault code.

Tl* the contact owns a 2004 f-250 super duty diesel. the vehicle stalled and accelerated while sitting at a stop sign. when approaching a stop sign and applying the brakes the vehicle continued to move forward. a few days ago the contact attempted to stop the vehicle while a pedestrian was walking in front of it and the vehicle failed to stop. the failure mileage was 20,000. this failure occurred daily. the weather was not a factor. one month after purchasing the vehicle he noticed vibration on the front end of the vehicle. the contact received a second opinion from a dealer, and they informed him that the fuel injection needed to be replaced. the repairs were performed at no cost to the contact due to the warranty. the current vehicle mileage was 51,000. *ak

Dt: consumer had has recall work done on 2004 ford f250 super duty. the first recall was in april on the turbo bracket. dealership put the bracket on the turbo charger on the top of the engine. dealership did not tighten the hose back, and all the oil leaked out. the second recall was on the rear planetary that was mandatory recall. the dealer tried to fix this, but the owner was not satisfied with the repair work. he said that the vehicle vibrated to badly. the next recall was the fuel control module, the dealer repaired the vehicle, and currently the truck was dying in the middle of the road after it warmed up. consumer talked to the dealership where he originally bought the truck, and they could not work on the truck because consumer had work done somewhere else. consumer talked to a regional manager, who said that the truck was operating normally. the truck could sit for a few minutes and will start back up.. consumer could not have anyone else work on the truck, or ford will void the warranty for one hundred thousand miles on the engine and components and 36,000 miles on the drive train. consumer wanted to file a complaint. the information about the recall was with the consumers lawyer. the consumer does have pending lawsuit against ford. *ak

My 2004 ford f250 super duty crew-cab truck accelerates and decelerates spontaneously on its own while i am driving at a uniform speed. this can persist for a number of miles before abating. the engine just begins to rev up and then down for no apparent reason. when stopped at a traffic light, with my foot only on the brake, the truck suddenly accelerates and lurches forward. i tried putting it in park while at the traffic light, but it died when i did so. the truck is used for trail fcor two large horses, and should it spontaneously accelerate or completely stop while trailering on the freeway, the results could be disastrous. this significant safety issue is what prompts my complaint to the nhtsa. we took the truck to our ford dealership mechanic, and he said that ford has had a number of similar complaints.*ak

We own a ford f-250 super duty with a 6.0 diesel motor with a 100,000 mile warranty. twice during that period, i reported that the motor was very noisy when starting on a cold morning. finally at 99,987 miles the local dealer acknowledges that 5 injectors need replacing and & ford will replace them as soon as i prove when every oil change was made. they specifically mentioned bills & receipts. after a few weeks gathering oil change information, a service advisor suggests taking it to the selling dealer, as they would be more disposed to fix the truck. the other service advisor says that they don't want to keep the work order open any more. the selling dealer couldn't help. after a lengthy process i get to the appropriate person at ford who accepts my personal notes on the oil changes. but since the truck now has over 100,000 miles on it, ford won't do the work, even though the problem had been reported several times prior to the 100,000 mile limit. i believe the local dealer set me up so ford wouldn't have to pay for the work. *nm

I own a 2004 ford f-250 with the 6.0 diesel motor. i have complained that on cold mornings, the motor makes a loud hammering noise, shakes & is very weak. finally, just short of the 1000,000 mile warranty, they agree that in fact it is faulty & needs 5 injectors replaced. however they won't replace them until i prove that every oil change was made on time. who can prove 99,000 miles of oil changes. i believe its an excuse, so they won't have to do the work. *jb
