Forward planetary in automatic transmission made of aluminum--- the center splines stripped out for the third time -- finally found all steel after market replacement -- assembly should have been stronger to begin with -- others must be having the same problem or no one would have needed to make a stronger aftermarket replacement

While driving in the neighborhood, pulled up to a stop sign, pushed the clutch in, push rod assembly broke and made the vehicle lurch forward . when this happened, consumer had no control of the vehicle. the only way to stop the vehicle was to kill the engine. contacted the dealer, they wanted 90.12 for the whole master cylinder. but did not need the whole assembly fixed, just the push rod. the new kit comes with a metal rod and the factory part has a plastic piece that cracks. *ak

Clutch master cylinder, push rod plastic extension fractured and broke while vehicle was in motion on the highway. the vehicle was unable to be shifted out of gear and was unable to stop forward motion until the engine was stopped. with further inspection of the component i was able to determine that wear and lubrications will cause this failure. an entire all metal unit should replace this component. vehicle was at 150,000 miles when failure occurred.*jb
