| My 2001 ford f-350 was destroyed in a fire. the unit spontaneously combusted at 1 am after being parked for over 12 hours. the unit was a total loss. the vehicle was parked at an employees home, which was also damaged. when i originally complained to ford about the speed control recall, they claimed that it did not include my vehicle. i recently discovered that this vehicle has been recalled for this problem. the insurance settlement was woefully inadequate, causing a 30k000 out of pocket expense to replace the truck. no compensation was offered from ford.*ak | |||

| Dt: the contact states there is a nhtsa recall campaign 05v388000 concerning the vehicle speed control deactivation switch. this vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall, but it is not included in the recall due to vin and the model type. the contact repaired the vehicle at her own expense. *ak | |||
