| I wondered if the situation i'm about to present are grounds for investigation for a safety recall. both airbags on my 1999 f350 super duty turbo diesel 7.3l were deployed hitting me on my chest and my 17yo son on his face, imparing the ability to drive till we went to a halt, thanks god i was only going 30mph and not too much traffic on either side. can't imagine what could happen at the freeway at 65mph. passenger side airbbag cover shattered the front windshield. all of this happened when the shaft became loose from the transmission joint, the shaft 12.9 grade bolts broke in half and the rocking shaft damaged the transmission casing and brackets, deploying the 2 airbags and shattering the front windshield with the passenger side airbag cover,making the vehicle unusable. ford co. assumed no responsibility on this issue at all, not even attempted to investigate or to provide information on how the part broke and why the airbags were deployed in the absence of a crash. this situation will cost me a lot of money, suffering, financial situation and definitely could cause injuries and death. on mechanic malfinction ford motor company assumes no responsibility, they just informed me there were no safety recalls on that issue. | |||

| While driving a 1999 ford f-350 i hit a small bump in a parking lot and both air bags deployed. i took the truck in to a local ford dealer tom holzer ford who refused to look at it and told me it doesn't happen that way. i am in the process of replacing the air bags but have heard after the incident that this has happened to others. i am concerned that i will replace the air bags and they will deploy again, and cause some type of accident. *tr | |||

| I , being the owner with a passenger, of a f- 350 7.3 crew cab diesal 4x4 was in an accident after going over black ice on i-40 near flagstaff az. resulting a roll over and taking out a 14 inch pine tree and landing on its passenger side when it was all said and done! the air bags in the pick- up did not deploy ! | |||

| Dt: the contact states there is a nhtsa recall campaign 98v303000 concerning the air bags:frontal:sensor/control module . this vehicle experienced the same problems as indicated in the recall, but is not included in the recall due to vin. *ak updated 1/4/2006 - the vehicle had a hose break that went through the transmission coupler resulting in damage to the transmission. when the vehicle was towed off the road and at a complete stop the driver's air bag deployed. the transmission has been repaired but the air bag has not. *nm | |||
