Defect SummaryCertain cequent 90 degree 7-way right angle adaptors sold by distributors in tow packages for aftermarket sales to tow 5th wheel rv travel trailers. due to incorrect wiring of the harness, the trailer lights may not operate properly.
Consequence SummaryIf the trailer lights are not working properly, a vehicle crash can occur.
Corrective SummaryAll of the defective tow packages are still at the distributor level and have not been sold to any consumers.

Defect SummaryFord is recalling certain model year 2011 ranger trucks built from january 25, 2011, through april 25, 2011 at the twin cities assembly plant, and service parts distributed to dealers for certain 2004 through 2011 model year ranger trucks, 2002 through 2005 model year excursion vehicles, and 2002 through 2007 model year f-250, f-350, f-450, and f-550 trucks for failing to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment. the multi-function switch was shipped with a subcomponent (slider) that may experience deformation. a multi-function switch with a deformed slider may malfunction causing the turn signal, tail lights, hazard warning signal flashers and/or brake lights not to activate.
Consequence SummaryNon-functioning lights could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the switches free of charge. the safety recall is expected to begin on or about august 15, 2011. owners may contact ford motor company customer relationship center at 1-866-436-7332.

 I own seven 2004 and 2005 ford f-550 and f-450 trucks with diesel engines that i use for my business. everyone of these vehicles has broken down on the side of the road with the same problem-leaking head gaskets. here is a list of the mileages that the failures occurred: vehicle #1 - 96,914 & 100,023 vehicle #2 - 114,963 vehicle #3 - 106,884 vehicle #4 - 69,620 & 109,635 vehicle #5 - 69,497 vehicle #6 - 58,537 & 81,433 vehicle #7 - 89,146 & 90,000 & 147,571 the ford dealerships that have repaired my vehicles acknowledge that there is a problem with the diesel engines in these model years based on the number of repairs they have performed. not only mine but many others. but ford motor company denies that there are any problems with their engines. obviously ford is trying to hide the problem. please help. *tr

 Tl*the contact owns a 2005 ford f450. when the contact attempted to fill the gas tank, all of the fuel began to come out of the top of the tank. he examined the vehicle and noticed that the fuel tank had collapsed and slit at the seam. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis. the failure mileage was 9,119. updated 09/15/08 *bf the carbon canister was mounter between frame rails and dirt and debris became trapped inside. updated 09/18/08. *jb
