In a head-on collision the driver's seat belt disengaged throwing driver through passenger side windshield. the armrest between the seats which is positioned right over the seat belt latch and is on a goose-neck mount collapsed and released the seat belt. this resulted in serious injuries.

In june of 2009 i took my 2007 ford focus in for regular oil changing maintenance as well as to find out while the seat belt light came on when my seat belt was latched. the service attendant checked the seat and stated there was nothing wrong with the seat belt. well a few weeks after that the light continues to flash only now the seat belt isn't latching properly. i again spoke with a representative who now informs me that my warranty expired and it will cost me $379 to correct this problem because not only do ford has to fix the latch but it also has to be rewired. i stated to a representative why didn't you do the work when i brought my car in still under warranty and reported this problem and now you want me to pay for an issue that i didn't create. so now i'm driving around with a seat that doesn't work because i can't afford to fix a safety issue that should have been fixed without question. *tr
