This is for a ford focus zx5 (4-door hatchback). at 90k miles passenger back door lock assembly broke and had to be replaced. replaced under extended warranty and cost $90. now the drivers back door lock is broken. it will not work manually or electronically. my children are able to open the door whether the car in in park or drive since the entire latch and lock assembly needs to be replaced. this is definitely a safety issue. paid for the door to be checked and the replacement part and labor is approx. $350. door locks should never fail and in my case both back doors have failed.

The throttle on my car continually gets stuck open. this has been happening repeatedly for the past three years. i have almost been in several accidents and am probably going to die in a car accident due to this. i go to brake and my car won't stop. tonight, 2/24, i went to stop coming off the freeway and my car actually accelerated while i was braking. ford has repeatedly refused to fix this even though you can look it up online and see that it happens to almost anyone who had the unfortunate luck of buying such a crappy car. fix it before i die in a car accident. i don't have the money to fix it myself. it is becoming a more frequent incident. it has happened in 2010, 2011, the end of 2012 and just now.

The driver side rear door (4 door sedan se model) will not lock. i can't lock it manually or electronically. the driver door will lock, but only with the key or when the lock in manually pushed. the driver side rear should never fail in a mode that can't be locked. this needs to be recalled. it is a safety issue. i can be carjacked, my belongs and car can be stolen. children cannot sit in the back seat because the door will not lock.

My 2007 ford focus rear passanger door lock will not lock. this is a real safety issue because i have children who can pull on the door and open it while i am driving down the road. i can not even child lock it. in addition, on tuesday night i was robbed of all my christmas presents that were in the trunk of my car because the door will not lock and someone accessed my car through the rear door and popped the trunk. they also stole my usps rain gear and important paperwork i had in my car ( i am a union representative). there is several complaints about this issue and we should not wait until a child dies from falling out on the freeway to recall these vehicles.

My driver's side rear door will not lock. when i try to auto lock it, it does nothing. and there is no way to manually lock it. because of this, the door remains unlocked at all times and i cannot even child proof because that would allow the door to be open from the outside, not the inside, therefore still essentially not locked. this is a safety issue for anyone riding in the backseat if they accidently open the door for whatever reason. more importantly, for me, it is a security issue if my car is never locked. i have looked online and seen many, many others with this exact issue with the same make, model, and year (as well as other years too). i learned there was a recall for this exact issue with the '05 model but ford for some reason will not take responibility for the other years as well. if this is ford's issue, and not a one-time incident with my car, i do not not believe i should be the one responsible. there was no accident. i just happened to notice one day that the door does not lock.

Alternator went out on way home from missouri to norman, ok. replaced it in joplin, mo. alternator went out again 7/17/12 on my way home from mo. took it to ford dealership in norman, ok and got it replaced on 7/25. cost over $500. battery light started coming on again 8/3 and i took it back in. ford dealershio stated they couldn't find an alternator within 3 hour drive and would call me when they got one. the guy at ford indicated maybe there was a problem with them since he couldn't find one. got it replaced again 8/7/12.

3 of 4 doors have now broken on my 2007 focus, due to the same problem as what was recalled on the 05 model -- the doors will not latch and/or lock. the door mechanism is the same for 2000-07, so i'm not sure why 07 was not recalled as well. i paid the dealer over $1000 to fix the front driver and back passenger doors in 5/12, and now in 7/12, the back driver door is doing the same thing -- when you go to shut it, it just pops back open, as the latch does not catch. i had to drive home from my baby shower last night with the rear doors tethered to eachother to keep the door from flapping open while i drove down the road. i have spoken with the service manager at the dealership, as well as ford corporate, and have basically been told it's not their problem and i am on my own to pay for the repair, because my car is too old (just 5 years from mfg date) and has too high mileage (not that the doors have anything to do with mileage) for ford to take any responsibility for what is clearly an issue of cheap, faulty parts and poor workmanship. this problem is all over the internet, and is clearly not isolated to my vehicle. ford should be ashamed of the fact that they have ignored this problem, which could cause serious injury to it's customers (just imagine if the latch had stopped working while i was doing 70 mph down the highway!), and neither i nor anyone in my family will ever buy another ford!

With no accident, trauma or unusual event, my air bag warning light began to come on and off intermittently. after about a week, it stayed on. i took it to a ford dealership. for $119.16, they diagnosed it as codes b1868 - airbag lamp failure and b2232 airbag circuit open loop #2 front driver's seat. it would cost $1,100 to replace the module.

The rear doors do not lock. the manual locking device doesn't move, nor does the lock on the remote work, so there is no way to lock the doors. this may have been like this for a long time without us noticing. thank goodness that a child did not try to open the door because it has not locked. this issue is all over the internet and is a common problem. this is a serious problem.

Driver side back door will not lock at all...therefore i can't let my child ride in the car because i can't put the child lock on the car. this is very unsafe!!

One of the rear doors will not lock. the dealership informed us the motor needed replaced. this was shocking news since the car has relatively low mileage compared to this type of needed repair.

The ignition key would not turn. the repair cost $305 and ford will not cover the expense under the extracare extended warranty. my research indicates that this is a problem that has been going on since 2000. i had a 2003 ford focus and i experienced the same exact problem. i assumed when i purchased my 2007 and 2010 ford focus that this problem had been addressed by ford. i looked up the 2003 ford focus on your database and found 247 complaints regarding this problem.. the 2007 ford focus has only 10 complaints but it appears that the mileage has to be over 30,000 miles.

My 88 year old mother was pulling into her garage when grabbing the shifing lever to put it in park it came up out of the column along with the electrical connection causing the car to go forward and hit the boxes. the key was locked in place and the car wouldn't shut off. piss poor design of screw holding the shifter on and the connection for the power.

Just purchased a 2007 ford focus hatchback two weeks ago. it had 29000 miles on it. hardly driven. i drove an hour away from my home, yesterday, two weeks after purchasing it. the radio went black, all lights and gages followed. i was able to drive it approx. 2 miles to a truck stop, before the car died, and i called for roadside assistance. after realizing that it's probably the alternator, i did a search online and realized that many people have dealt with this exact same issue in the exact same type of car, around the same mileage. nothing has been done by ford to correct this issue and i think they should. i was on a busy highway with my girlfriend and her 9 year old daughter, who was terrified of the whole situation of being stranded in the dark at night. i have also learned that people have needed to replace the alternator in these cars more than one time, after the initial episode. i had to have my car towed and it cost me $100. i haven't even made my first monthly payment on this car yet !!! now im looking at spending anywhere from $400-$700 to fix a car that i purchased, less than 3 weeks ago. had there been a recall from ford on this, i would either have never had to deal with it, or i could have taken the car in when i purchased it and had it serviced, free of charge. i know that there are plenty of complaints about it on the internet to constitute a recall. i hope this helps in getting that done. where do i stand, if a recall is announced after i have spent the money to rectify the situation myself??

I have a 2007 ford focus,my windshield started with a small crack coming from the fire wall area, below the dashboard. over a few days it have grown in size, and another crack has started about two inches from where the first crack started.neither crack is from impact with a foreign object.

Ford focus 2007, 42,000 miles. lights went off and car stopped ( no power at all), dead) in the middle of urban intersection with heavy traffic. it was sat. evening and caused shock and inconveniences to driver who missed important appointment. it is a safety issue although this time an accident/crash was avoided. car was towed to dealer for service. dealer replaced alternator and battery, disregarding warranty. dealer wants to charge $683.00. a recall has to be filed because of the many complaints against ford focus 2007 for the same problem.

2007 ford focus. consumer was killed in an accident. *bf the vehicle was equipped with a black box and the lawyer has been attempting to get the manufacturer of the black box to download the rcm , but has been unsuccessful. on july 2009, the lawyer for the deceased was informed by one of the attorneys for ford motor company, that they were in contact with the manufacturer regarding the download of the rcm information and were advised that there was no way to download that particular model in the united states and they would have to forward the unit to germany to download the information. the lawyers office still has not received any information and believed the black box manufactured by bosch is a fraud and that the black box does not maintain any information. lawyer wrote in on behalf of the estate of the deceased. *jb

Ford focus, 2007 the gear shift in my 07 ford focus just fell off into my hand! i was at the store, and put it into reverse, and the button that you depress to shift into reverse popped out, followed by the spring mechanism that holds it into place in the gear column. i tried to put it back in, and finally was able to reach in and depress a small button, thus enabling me to shift it into drive and take it home. i called the dealership where i bought it, and my warranty has expired. (of course). i also called ford, and there is no recall in effect. the part costs over $1500. to replace. being a single mom (disabled) and not working, i can not afford this! with the amount of complaints on this issue that i have read online, it seems to me that a recall is in order!
