 The consumer received a recall notice regarding the tie rod and drag links, following the repair, the consumer noticed the steering position had moved from its original to more a vertical position, the recreational vehicle was returned to the dealer to reposition the steering wheel. months later consumer noticed the right front tire had worn into the wear bars on the outer rim of the tire, it was determined both tires were damaged and the total toe was 1.05 inches which was more than allowable. *ph *jb

 Ltr fm james henderson (ny) re the defective 1997 mercury tracer...*mr the consumer and his wife owned two ford vehicles and both experienced broken rear springs. ford refused to consider compensation for the manufacturing defect. the right outer tie rods were installed and the rear springs were replaced. other consumers with the same make and model experienced the same problem. (1997 mercury tracer and 1999 ford escort) scc *jb
