| I was idling in a parking lot in my parking spot and the car surged so strong i almost drove into the building in front of me. the wrench warning light came on and the car drove poorly for a few miles. it was jumpy and not very much power. we called ford and he recommended pulling the battery cable off the battery to reset it and bring it in as soon as we got back from our vacation. it seemed to do ok for a while then randomly it would surge while idling.( in 2011 maybe once a month. in 2012 probably every other day.) brought it to ford a few times and they didn't know what to do because it didn't do it while they had it. also the air conditioner will randomly shut off for a minute or two then suddenly come back on. the lights in the car will do the same thing. also the dash warning lights sometimes all come on at once and then all go out for a while. ( i cant see my speed so i have to pull over). i was scared to let my daughter or strangers drive my car. i am afraid they will get hurt or hurt some one. i have to always hold my brake all the way down and quickly let off and put the brakes back on to pull into parking spaces so i don't run into the vehicle in front of me. | |||

| Purchased an 07 ford freestyle. less than three yrs old and had to replace transmission at $7000.00! was told the revving and lunging the vehicle does caused the transmission issue. i have reported this to everyone i can. why does no one care that these vehicles move on their own? when toyota had this issue, the news stations were all over it. a recall happened within months! if you google these issues, there are more than 20,000 people with the same issue. these are family cars! family vehicles which drive kids and they accelerate on their own even in reverse! i don't have another 7000.00 for another new transmission. ford issued a one time throttle cleaning, that i just received in the mail. thx ford for the $150 service that does nothing! never again will i buy a f.o.r.d! found on road dead=ford! | |||

| We purchased our freestyle in07 and literally only drove it for 3 years. the car started to lunge and make all kinds of noises when we took it in and they said our car was out of warranty by a couple miles literally they wouldn't do anything for us just told us it was going to be about $5000 to repair. tat is huge when your still paying on it. please investigate this so we all can get a vehicle we can drive and not worry we are going to lunge at the kids school where you could easily hurt children. | |||

| Not long after i purchased the 2007 ford freestyle, summer came and i was using the air conditioner a lot. i noticed that when the ac was running, especially at high, the car would lurch forward at low speeds (probably 5 mph or less ). when i was parking the car, rolling into a parking space, with my foot hovering over the brake pedal, as soon as i got to the proper spot, the car would lurch. when i would back out of a parking space with my foot hovering above the brake, it would lurch. this proved to be a scary situation many times as there were cars passing in the parking lot. many times, i could have hit another car. even in the drive through of fast food restaurants with other cars in line, many times i have almost hit the car in front of me. many times, my car has lurched and stalled. the wrench light comes on, and if i don't turn the car all the way off in park, the car does not behave properly (as in no acceleration) nor does the wrench light go off. in the beginning, i thought it was something to do with the air conditioner being on high. the problem stopped in the winter when the ac wasn't being used. however, in the summer of 2011, it all started again. my ac went out, so i had it worked on. the problem continued. today, the problem continues. i almost hit a child in a parking lot the other day because my car lurched. i began searching and found that others are having the same scary problem with their ford freestyles. it sounds as if i am maybe lazy or not too concerned since i haven't had this checked earlier, but frankly, i don't have the money to spend on repairs, so i keep hoping it won't cause a disastrous situation. please investigate this issue before it does become deadly. | |||

| We purchased this vehicle new 8/18/07 from palm coast ford. in may or june 2010 i began noticing the car lunging when backing out of parking spots or once you have backed out and then placed into drive. i also encountered an issue with the car stalling if parked on an incline. on 7.5.10 the vehicle was left for several days with palm coast ford for diagnostics and they claimed nothing was wrong with the car as they could not duplicate the issues. as this issue did not seem appropriate i visited the daytona beach ford dealership but this was not a documented visit as was the palm coast ford visit. the daytona ford service manager indicated it was a just the way the car was designed to prevent stalling when backing up or pulling forward. so i lived with this problem hoping that it wouldn't lunge and hit someone in a parking lot. my brother finally rode with me and said this is not correct so i took the vehicle to a non-ford repair shop who recommended a tune-up be accomplished. this occurred oct. 25, 2011 and corrected the problem. however, now whatever they accomplished with the tune-up is now wearing off as the vehicle has begun it's lunging problem again in the past few weeks. that's when i researched and found these incident reports so i want to report my problem to help you document there is definitely something going on with this make/model car. i like my freestyle but there's definitely an issue with the lunging situation. | |||

| I have also experienced unexpected vehicle movement when my foot was not on the accelerator. my vehicle has moved as much as 1-2 feet when the brake was not applied or lightly applied. i describe the movement as a lunge. also, as others have reported,, the lunging has occured when my foot was not on the accelerator and was either firmly on the brake pedal or lightly on the brake pedal. i have only noticed this condition while in drive. lunges have been sudden and unexpected, and generally are of brief duration. the condition seems worse with the air-conditioning in operation and/or when the steering wheel is turned. | |||

| We purchased this vehicle on wednesday august 8th, 2012. we were backing up out of a parking spot and as my husband turned the steering wheel the car accelerated backwards and the car shut off after he hit the brakes. he did not have his foot on the accelerator at all. in fact, he was in transition from the brake and his foot hadn't even hit the accelerator pedal yet. this is the only problem we have experienced since having the vehicle. i would not say it lunges forward or reverse- i would say it hops forward or reverse. it's seems to be a spurt of acceleration. the vehicle shifts fine into gear, no stalls, no grinding noises, just little spurts when it's backing up. the only difference between my husbands driving and mine is that i always engage the emergency brake when i park. i'm used to driving manual transmissions. so, when i put the vehicle into reverse i still have the emergency brake on and the spurts do not occur with my driving. i did find it alarming that with my particular vehicle it does not require my foot to be on the brake pedal in order to start the vehicle. i can start the vehicle by simply turning the key. this is not something i'm used to seeing in modern vehicles as i am used to driving volkswagen's. i'm concerned because i don't know if this problem will get worse. will i drive down the road and not be able to stop? i can't afford extra parts. i love everything about this vehicle (and from a volkswagen enthusiast that says a lot). i just don't know what to do or what the worst case scenario is. i don't want to lose my life. | |||

| During the week of july 2, 2012, we were in cleveland, ohio, and it was exceptionally hot. 100+ degree temperatures every day, so we had the air conditioning on full blast. when driving the car at slow rates of speed -- in parking garages, for instance -- or reversing out of parking spaces, the car lunged as though i'd accelerated, but my foot was either not on the accelerator at all, or on the brake. the following week, temperatures cooled, and the lunging was not as noticeable. the week of july 16, 2012, it was again hot, and the symptoms started again -- lunging when driving at slow rates of speed, reverse, etc. during this particular week, though, the car would stall as well. it always re-started, though. on july 27, 2012, the car again stalled, and then would not go more than 50 mph. when we took it to the dealer, we were told we needed a new transmission. for the lunging issue, research online shows that might be due to a dirty body throttle, but two separate dealers say that it's definitely the transmission. | |||

| In june 2011 i had to bring my vehicle in for service, i noticed prior to my vehicle breaking down the vehicle would lurch even thou my foot was not on the accelerator pedal (in forward or reverse). the temp outside was in the low 90's. i had bought this vehicle in the fall of 2010. now today (18 july 2012) i am once again taking my car in for the same repairs (parts replacement). the temp yesterday was near 90, i had the air on and was backing into a parking spot when my vehicle lurched back instantly without my foot on the accelerator (i had to slam on the brakes) so i did not crash into the other vehicle in the stall behind the one i was baking into. all the sudden the engine stalled; i re-started the vehicle (and the check engine light came on and is now on constantly as it was back in 2011). when i left the parking slot i was in i attempted to go home; the vehicle lurched the whole time i was in the parking lot, once i was on the main road the vehicle would not accelerate normally; also the cruise control would not work. again; these are the same problems i had in 2011. i crept my car to the superior ford dealership where i had the work done before. i asked the service dept worker if she knew of any tech-issues or concerns and she said no....i was not buying it. | |||

| Bought vehicle used 8 days ago. on two occasions, once yesterday and once today, the vehicle seemed to throttle up with gas pedal not applied and foot on brake. both instances were in a parking lot. on both instances...outside temperature was over 100 degrees f and the air conditioner was on in both front/back modes. i simply put the car in drive and as i was turning out of parking spot, foot on brake maneuvering turn...the vehicle lunged forward. startled me on both occassions. i was able to stop vehicle, but some distance had occured. fortunately, no one was in front of me. the lunge almost feels like you stomped the gas pedal to the floor for just a second. that is the best description of what the discrepancy feels like. i'm very worried...just purchasing this vehicle. it's the weekend, so i will be in contact with a dealership first thing. | |||

| Vehicle surges forward whether the vehicle is in drive or reverse. i have had the throttle body replaced in 2011. i have had to replace brakes at 30,000 miles. the driver side back door will not lock with the key remote. on july 6 2012 with ac on driving slowly out of a parking lot car would not go. it started up and i went about 20ft and car just died. on july 10, 2012 took it to dealer in virginia beach, va. on tuesday, july 12, 2012 i was told it was something to do with the powertrain and the cost would be $1600. i went ballastic and asked to speak to manager and then asked for number to ford company. i talked with someone there explained my financial situation and was given a claim number and said someone would get back to me in four (4) days about financial assistance, which is not what i was looking for. i told the ford rep, that i had been looking on the internet about all the complaints about my 2007 freestyle and asked why there was not a recall on this car. on wednesday, july 11, 2012 dealer called and said the problem was not the $1600.00 deal but a pigtail (whatever that is) at the tune of $600.00. i am afraid of this car and i am looking to get rid of it as soon as possible. | |||

| I purchased this vehicle on 12/03/2007. i don't remember the first time i noticed it lunge, but when i did notice it i brought it to my husband's attention, and because he didn't drive it, he brushed it off. when i start the vehicle i have to make sure i have my foot on the brake before placing it in drive or reverse because it will lunge. however, recently my husband was driving it and as we approached an intersection and he started braking for the redlight, it lunged forward with a lot of force - it was scary! | |||

| My ford 2007 freestly was positively, certainly accelerating on it's own. it was at times terrifying. it kept getting worse. it happened in differet degrees of severity and length of time. it also happened in two different ways. the first way was when i was either simply driving but predominantly when i began to slow down for a red light or to park. at that very second, the car would literay jump ahead in a sudden, mortifying tremendous acceleration. i would try to restrain it by stepping on the breaks as hard as i could. the car would not respond to the breaks, the thrust was as strong or at times, stronger. most times it kept going for a bit, but with my heart pounding in fear that i would hit another car or a pedestrian, i would find myself truly off my seat, solely on the break with all my possible strength; and the car would die. when i was at a light and the green came on, i was having to restart the car quickly to keep with traffic flow.many times, after restarting the car and driving slowly and tryign to stay away from other cars, the car would go on, but with a hiccup on and off.then things would seem normal, but i never knew for how long. the second way in which the car self accelerated, was when i turned it on to start driving.again the acceleration would be so sudden and i never knew how strongly. some times i was very close to hitting the car behind me in a parking lot, or anywhere i was parked. i had to take extra, precaitions to make absolutely sure, more than usual, than no persons would be even remotely in range of my car when i turned it on, because i never knew, depending on the acceleration force, how far the jump would be. this problm kept me in anxiety and uncertainty. i took my car twice to my regular car shop, had to take it to ford dealer, only place to find the equipment needed. person there knew about same problem in other fords. | |||

| While starting 2007 freestyle there was a very sudden reving engine sound followed by the car lunging forward. the car was still engaged in park position, my right foot positioned over brake but not on it as i was about to shift into reverse. the reving & lunge stopped as suddenly as it had started & i went on to back up without any problem. the incident concerned me because the car did move forward some..inches, maybe a foot. it moved enough that my bushes in front of my bedroom window were touching the front rim/bumper of car. i have had many more incidences like this one in the past few weeks. all are unpredictable. car has lunged while in drive and reverse as well. it has also sped off immediately after engaged in drive. it will accelerate without my foot on the pedal. it will stop when i brake but by then it has already covered some ground. the car is having different/opposite acceleration problems when i stop at signs/lights. the car won't accelerate at all with the pedal pushed all the way. then it will eventually catch and accelerate.i have had what i think is the power go on & off while accelerating & slowing down, with panel lights go out then on. the steering isn't effected. the engine itself sounds as normal as any day. my car has 29,329 miles. i had to replace all brakes last week. brought car to shop & was redirected to the ford dealer. mechanic gave me code p0701 along with brief explanation of problem. i'm afraid to drive it. it's not safe to drive. however brief the incidences are, the driver is still without any control over where the car goes for that time. the lunging itself could cause injury to driver. i had my freestyle taken to dealer this morning. i have not heard from service dept. yet. i have seen huge cost incurred by others. the service dept. got defensive & abrupt so i am glad that these ford issues are being investigated. | |||

| This car has been lurching forward when put in park for the last month or so. on the date of the incident, when i pulled out of the parking space the engine hesitated a couple of times like it was going to cut off. it lurched forward just before i pulled out into the road. as i came to a yield sign i had to stop for traffic. when it was my turn to go, the car moved forward but as if the emergency brake was on (slow and labored). i drove to the next parking lot and pulled into a parking space and called my husband to come get me and we took the car straight to the dealership. it was sunday evening so we left it there with a detailed report as to what happened. by monday evening we picked up the repaired car and contacted this organization. the throttle body -air intake was replaced. | |||

| I have a 2007 ford freestyle.about 4 or 5 months ago when i would put the car in reverse or drive (from park) the engine would speed up and it would surge.it would do it maybe once a week.it has been doing it everyday for the past 2 months.it is very scary.when it surges,you have to push harder on the brake to stop it from crashing into something or speeding off down the road.when you push harder on the brake the engine shuts off.i called the ford dealership where i bought the vehicle and it was going to cost me over $940 to fix a problem(throttle body) that is not my fault nor was caused by me,and many other ford freestyles are having the same problem.there are 5 (including mine) that i know of that are having this problem,just in the small town that i live in.but the dealership will not fix it unless i pay $940,because ford has not recalled it. | |||

| On a hot summer day in the chicago, il suburban area (7/21/2011, outside air temperature of 100 degrees f), i was completely stopped at a red traffic light. i was the first car in the lane of traffic awaiting the light to transition to green in order to proceed safely through the intersection. suddenly and while my foot was completely depressing the brake pedal of the automatic transmission 2007 ford freestyle (with approximately 44,000 miles), the vehicle jumped forward (i.e., lunged) approximately 10-feet. while there was no other vehicle in front of my freestyle, no collision was experienced. however, the lunge was significant enough that had another party's vehicle been in front of my freestyle, i am very confident that a collision would have been experienced. the vehicle dashboard wrench symbol then illuminated. i was able to drive the vehicle to the ford authorized service and sales dealer. the vehicle was slow to respond to acceleration in-route to the repair center. in other words, the vehicle limped to the service center. the ford service representatives reported their diagnostic code readings were indicative of the need for a new throttle body assembly. once replaced on 7/22/2011, the vehicle is performing as expected in a normal fashion. i have the defective part in my possession, and i am working to provide the unit to a nhtsa representative. | |||

| On a hot summer day in the chicago, il suburban area (7/21/2011, outside air temperature of 100 degrees f), i was completely stopped at a red traffic light. i was the first car in the lane of traffic awaiting the light to transition to green in order to proceed safely through the intersection. suddenly and while my foot was completely depressing the brake pedal of the automatic transmission 2007 ford freestyle (with approximately 44,000 miles), the vehicle jumped forward (i.e., lunged) approximately 10-feet. while there was no other vehicle in front of my freestyle, no collision was experienced. however, the lunge was significant enough that had another party's vehicle been in front of my freestyle, i am very confident that a collision would have been experienced. the vehicle dashboard wrench symbol then illuminated. i was able to drive the vehicle to the ford authorized service and sales dealer. the vehicle was slow to respond to acceleration in-route to the repair center. in other words, the vehicle limped to the service center. the ford service representatives reported their diagnostic code readings were indicative of the need for a new throttle body assembly. once replaced on 7/22/2011, the vehicle is performing as expected in a normal fashion. i have the defective part in my possession, and i am working to provide the unit to a nhtsa representative. | |||

| About three months ago i bought a 2007 ford freestyle. one day when me, my daughter, and my granddaughter went shopping , in warner robins georgia my car stopped right in the middle of traffic and cut off . we just about had people hit us in all different directions. so i turned the car off and turned it back on and drove into the parking lot and called the people i bought the car from. they told us to bring the car too them.well a couple days later when i was suppose to take the car to them it turned off two times in one day! i had bought all of the available warrenty i could by when i bought the car, but today the dealership called me back and said that it is the throttle body, and that no matter if you fix it, it can continue to mess up (and it is not on the warrenty!!!) , and the cost of the part to fix it is 670.00. i am unsatisifed and scared to drive it and i feel like its a big safety risk!!! i don't want to continue driving it with it turning off in the middle of traffic. it makes me scared and i am nervous for my family!! i have read on the internet that alot of people has had problems with the throttle body for there 2007 ford freestyle!! | |||

| This car is a dangerous weapon. it almost ran over my child. literally. it self accelerated while she was crossing in front of it. if i had not been paying attention and hit the brake immediately she would be dead, i am sure of it. this car self accelerates in forward and reverse, with no warning while idle. i had it fixed once (it was the famous throttle body) they cleaned it. car ran fine for a while then started doing it again. can't drive the car for fear it will do it again. can't trust ford to fix it as they have lied continually and did not fix it when they said they did the first time. can't sell it b/c i would feel terrible if someone got hurt b/c i passed it on. i also had to replace the transmission once and now am having transmission troubles again. i believe the carbon build up on these throttle bodies are breaking down the transmissions. funny thing is ford no longer makes this particular transmission as per their corporate office. it is criminal what they are doing. i will testify in any court and tell my story. a mother who almost kills their child is someone that will not stop fighting for what is right. i don't know how the people at ford sleep at night knowing they know these cars are out their and that their main drivers are moms and grandmoms. this is beyond the money lost on this vehicle, this is a fight for justice and what is right and most of all, public safety. | |||

| About three months ago i bought a 2007 ford freestyle. one day when me, my daughter, and my granddaughter went shopping , in warner robins georgia my car stopped right in the middle of traffic and cut off . we just about had people hit us in all different directions. so i turned the car off and turned it back on and drove into the parking lot and called the people i bought the car from. they told us to bring the car too them.well a couple days later when i was suppose to take the car to them it turned off two times in one day! i had bought all of the available warrenty i could by when i bought the car, but today the dealership called me back and said that it is the throttle body, and that no matter if you fix it, it can continue to mess up (and it is not on the warrenty!!!) , and the cost of the part to fix it is 670.00. i am unsatisifed and scared to drive it and i feel like its a big safety risk!!! i don't want to continue driving it with it turning off in the middle of traffic. it makes me scared and i am nervous for my family!! i have read on the internet that alot of people has had problems with the throttle body for there 2007 ford freestyle!! | |||

| 2007 ford freestyle crossover - the car will suddenly lunge forward, sometimes the motor shuts down and the red wrench light comes on. this has been happening frequently in the last month. i have called the dealership and they say they think it may be due to throttle problems. although i have not done an extensive investigation into when the above happens, i have noticed when the air conditioner is on high, it happens. this may be coincidental but nevertheless i have noticed the surge when the air condition is on. i have researched the internet for others with this problem and there certainly seems to be many people with the exact same problem. there is definitely a safety issue with this in that if you do not currently have your foot on the brake, the car will lunge forward (possibly hitting another car, a pedestrian or have even having a deadly accident. this problem needs to be considered a recall by ford and repaired free of charge by ford. this should be done before someone is seriously harmed. | |||

| I just purchased a ford freestyle 2007 and took it to a tach day after the purchase due to the fact that the car surges and cuts of and then will loose power. tech advised me he couldnt find anything wrong test drove it several times and it never happened after we got home with the car it being to do it a few more times this seems to be something that will get you killed or your family killed i sure hope ford relizes if someone does get hurt but the car surging like this that the company will be at fault and i hope they fix the issue soon for good | |||

| I had my brakes repaired this spring. two weeks ago i had to have my a/c compressor replaced. on 5/8/11 i was backing out of a parking space with my foot applied gently to the break when my ford freestyle suddenly surged and then shut off. when i restarted it the wrench light was lit. i took it to the dealership the next day and was told i needed a new throttle body, not covered under powertrain warranty as it is outside the engine. i researched these issues online when i got home and there are many discussions regarding all of these issues. some even state after repair the vehicle continues to surge and has even hit other vehicles. | |||

| I took my ford freestyle into the dealer today to have it looked at because it was lurching and not getting enough power. it was diagnosed with ...bad throttle body...and the mechanic had the nerve to suggest that it only happens to cars that aren't maintained properly by the owners. i explained that mine is well maintained and i have records to show for it, then he gave me the wonderful news that it would only cost me $1,188.93 to fix it. he acted like it was a real rarity for this to happen and that i was getting a huge deal. he even charged me $99 for the privilege of diagnosing the problem. then he came back to me and warned me that it could stop or the engine could seize if i drove it still. when i wouldn't take the bait, he called me later at home and suggested they could give me a small discount for the repair. then he once again warned that it's very unsafe to drive. by the way, i'm a single woman and the car has only 47k on it. i'm feeling pretty confident that the increased cost was associated with my gender...so, what others were told would cost them about $700 or so, i was informed would be almost $1,200 - guess it's more expensive to fix the problem when a woman is the primary driver!!! when i googled the freestyle name i found out that this problem is very very common with other vehicle owners. i'm seriously disgusted that ford and their representatives would try to cover up or ignore this problem and even allow drivers back on the road when this type of thing is occuring. it's an accident waiting to happen. | |||

| My 2007 ford freestyle has had several problems this summer that appear to be occuring frequently all over the united states. our freestyle has just over 60,000 miles on it. a month ago, we had to replace the air compressor. then the car began lurching and one day kept dying as the check engine light came on. right now, it has been at the dealership for 2 weeks awaiting a throttle body sensor which is on backorder since so many of these models have this problem. clearly ford needs to recall this model and quickly find replacement parts for these vehicles. | |||

| I took my ford freestyle into the dealer today to have it looked at because it was lurching and not getting enough power. it was diagnosed with ...bad throttle body...and the mechanic had the nerve to suggest that it only happens to cars that aren't maintained properly by the owners. i explained that mine is well maintained and i have records to show for it, then he gave me the wonderful news that it would only cost me $1,188.93 to fix it. he acted like it was a real rarity for this to happen and that i was getting a huge deal. he even charged me $99 for the privilege of diagnosing the problem. then he came back to me and warned me that it could stop or the engine could seize if i drove it still. when i wouldn't take the bait, he called me later at home and suggested they could give me a small discount for the repair. then he once again warned that it's very unsafe to drive. by the way, i'm a single woman and the car has only 47k on it. i'm feeling pretty confident that the increased cost was associated with my gender...so, what others were told would cost them about $700 or so, i was informed would be almost $1,200 - guess it's more expensive to fix the problem when a woman is the primary driver!!! when i googled the freestyle name i found out that this problem is very very common with other vehicle owners. i'm seriously disgusted that ford and their representatives would try to cover up or ignore this problem and even allow drivers back on the road when this type of thing is occuring. it's an accident waiting to happen. | |||

| We own a 2007 ford freestyle with a 3l engine. we are experiencing a surging of the engine when the air conditioner is on and we are turning into tight spots such as parking spots. today (13aug2010) i left the vehicle idling while i went inside a pizza store to buy a pizza (less than three minutes). when i returned to the vehicle and placed it in reverse to back out of our parking spot the vehicle surged in reverse and died. after restarting the engine it would not idle correctly and a wrench light on the dash board came on. the vehicle cut out as i put it in drive to move out of the driving lane and on the ride home the engine would cut out occasionally but never completely died. at home i checked the engine and noticed the top motor mount bushing was broken. | |||

| My 2007 ford freestyle has lunging/surging of power. i can have my foot on the brake and the car will surge either in forward or reverse. this happens daily. in parking lots is very dangerous. you actually have no control while it is happening. ford says it is the throddle body assembly and is not covered under warranty. there are many people complaining about the same issue in their 2006 and 2007 models on the internet. i really wish that this matter is resolved with an investigation and a safety recall. safety should always be number 1. | |||

| Car will suddenly surge in acceleration when switching from park to reverse and reverse to drive; this happens almost every time i get in it from my driveway to parking lots and also at traffic lights. this is a very serious and dangerous problem. when i have the brakes depressed and switch gears the surges (revs high) stalls, the wrench light comes on then goes out but i have little to no power when trying to accelerate. this all started around march 2010 doing it every now and then but is now doing it almost every time we get in it. the mileage is 52,000 | |||

| Having acceleration surges on 07 ford freestyle. has happend 3 times, the last of which almost hit pedestrian. have taken to local ford delarship and contacted ford directly. both saying no problem with vehicle. did research online and finding numerous complaints for same problem and throttle body being the reason and ford is aware of this problem. is there going to have to be another situation like toyota for ford to recall? | |||

| My 2007 ford freestyle appears to be having some kind of idle issue. as i put the car in gear, the rpms jump and cause the car to lunge. the rpms jump with the car in park, if the steering wheel is even turned a tiny bit. it's almost like the car isn't getting enough power until something is activated. my concern is with the lunging. i'm afraid it's going to project me into another car or something else. i've not had any service lights come on or anything. this issue just started. my car has 85k mile on it, so it's not under warranty. as i began researching this issue, i found many complaints about the same issue. i appears to be tied into the throttle body. if this is truly an issue with this car, why hasn't a recall been made on the part. this is a safety hazard, especially for a car built for families. | |||
