| After parking my car i pulled my door handle to get out of my car, when my door handle broke. the plastic is poor quality and snapped leaving my handle nearly hanging by a few pieces. this is a very common problem even so as much that when calling ford to get it repaired they laughed at me citing it has happened with many other people. seeing as there are several occurrences of an unanticipated problem with this vehicle i would like to recommend that this become a tsb. | |||

| Both front and rear interior door handles have failed. i am unable to exit the vehicle without lowering the window and opening from exterior. there is no visible evidence they have failed, they have just stopped working. you can convince the rear to work if you pull the handle and lock the same time. if i were to be involved in an accident, and the power failed, i would be unable to exit the vehicle at all. this vehicle is 3 years old with 47,000 miles and is now a potential death trap. the dealer says it is not covered, and i would have to pay for repairs. i am considering legal action, any vehicle that is inescapable shouldn't be on the highways. worst of all, a quick search shows this to be an abundant problem with fusions from 2006 on. there are numerous blog on this subject alone. i am afraid to transport my family in this vehicle and have received no help! | |||

| The driver of a 2009 fusion, 4 cylindar se was driving on the freeway and had to accelerate due to merging traffic. the accelerator stuck and the car continued to gain speed even with the foot bieng hard pressed on the brakes. the driver called his father, while driving`, who recommended he turn the key off on click to avoid locking the steering wheel. the driver was able to get the car to the side of the freeway and was unable to start the vehicle and aaa was called to tow the vehicle. the driver's father looked up this type of uncontrolled acceleration on the internet and read about mats causing the pedal to stick. a mat was recently put back in the car. the driver verified that the mat had caused the pedal to stick, it sprung back, and the car was able to start after removing the mat the driver drove it home without incident. this was a poentially very serious situation due to high speed and continuing to increase in speed. the driver could have turned off the car with the result of the steering wheel getting locked causing a high speed uncontrolled vehicle. the driver had his two sons, age 5 and 3 with him. this scared the hell out of the driver and the father. floor mat info from underside of mat: 6e5j-5413087-aaw fd >tpe< 524 fusion is on the top of the mat. | |||

| Recurring low speed and braking unintended acceleration problems with surges from about 3200 to over 5000 rpms. this happens when braking and when stopped or right after starting up from a stop. may not be a safety problem but this is consistent with the toyota problems. | |||
