My vehicle came with the standard cloth floor mats, but my dealer threw in the factory rubber ones from another fusion free of charge. i've had my vehicle a little over a year now and twice i have had a sticking accelerator pedal. the floor mat creeps forward and will sometimes catch the accelerator pedal just right and keep the pedal at whatever throttle setting it was last at. this has never caused any real problems for me, but i feel that it is important that ford mo co be made aware of this and either encourage dealers to not exchange the floor mats, or to install some sort of holding mechanism to keep the rubber mats from interfering with the accelerator pedal.

I have a 2010 ford fusion se with 12593.2 miles which i purchased new. the wheels have never been removed from the vehicle. before removing the lug nuts of the front drivers' wheel to do a tire rotation, i noticed a lug nut missing. the stud had failed. i am very worried about the remaining studs and have read that others have had similar failures. i will be consulting my dealer monday for a solution.

Safety issue. design/engineering defect. 2010 fusion hybrid. foot space between the knee airbag housing and brake pedal is severely and dangerously restricted by the physical presence, bulk, and location of the knee airbag. this delays response for instant brake deployment for emergency deceleration. vertical clearance is ~4 and is less if approached at an angle, swiveling on heel from accelerator to brake. lifting foot with leg from hip bumps foot against airbag housing, stopping smooth transition to pedal with either foot. foot then must slide horizontally into narrow space to engage brakes. foot space is dangerously restricted even with driving mocs. i have excellent reflexes and 60-year safe driving record with no moving violations. but in congested freeway conditions during a 3600-mile road trip i felt required to drive with left foot poised above the brake pedal to limit emergency response time. with only short trips for 1500 miles, i at first thought i might get used to this problem. this limitation and the extraordinary driving practices required for safety only became painfully apparent during the road trip. this safety issue was reported to ford motor company today. desire physical removal of knee airbag with all mounting hardware and reprogramming of software to ignore its absence. note: the required incident date on this form is the approximate date of manufacture, listed on the rocker panel as 10/09. this is an engineering design defect which appears to have been an afterthought. no accident has resulted only because i have devoted assiduous attention to mitigating the problem by shoe choice and extremely careful driving practice.

I bought a 2010 ford fusion from shaefer ford in cumberland md on 3/17/10. on 4/15/10 i was driving on 220 south from my home in bedford to cumberland. i passed a truck and then tried to slow down and the acelerator would not respond to the brake pressure. for over 1 mile i had brake allway to the floor and the vehicle was still going at 45 mph. i saw 4-5 cars stopped in front of me so i turned off the car and was able to stear to the shoulder and the truck passed me. i called shaeffer ford and was towed to their lot. i left the car and later that day i was told that the floor pad had hooked onto the accelerator so that it did not deaccelerate. they said they check everything and that everything was ok and the brakes were not damaged. i drove the car home that afternoon.

I bought the car with 12000 miles on it and under warranty. at 12750 miles the transmission began to flare from 2nd to 3rd gear and 4th to 5th gear. i took it to the dealer and the transmission was reprogramed and i was told to grive it apx. 250 miles and it would correct itself. at 13150 miles the problem was worse than before so i took it back in. the dealer checked it and said nothing was wrong and that the cold transmission flare was normal. i know that the transmission was not designed to flare until it gets warm. after viewing several hundred complaints on line, all for the same problem, it seems you would requird ford to fix this problem. it is a big time safety hazzard when the car looses power and forward motion in traffic. this defect is a major accident and probably deaths waiting to happen. please do somethig to help all of us since it is evident that ford does not care and will not take it on it's to fix the problem or stand behind their product.

2010 ford fusion sel. customer writes in regards to continued transmission problems.*smd the consumer stated the transmission would slip harshly and hesitate on acceleration. the recall repair did not correct the transmission problems. it was determined that the valve body and solenoid body were defective. also, one of the tires was leaking air, there was an issue with the traction and brakes. there were noises coming from the front of the vehicle. the steering wheel would not lock into place, the cd player did not work at times, the driver side visor did not stay in place, the gas over flow tube was inoperative, the vehicle would pull hard when the brake was applied. the rear driver's side door had to be slammed extremely hard, in order to close it. the driver's side seat belt was backwards. the passenger side windshield wiper dragged on the windshield and the vehicle would sometimes surge on its own. each time the consumer went to the dealer about certain problems, she was told no problems were found.
