While going 70 mph on the highway i experienced the same issues. my car stalled out shut off the cruise control and started shaking uncontrollable. i shut off the car and waited about five minutes and started it back up drove maybe another ten miles and it started again. on the following day i took it to the dealership where i purchased it from and they made it seem as if i had no ideal of what i was talking about. once they realized i knew that it was the throttle body assembly that was the problem i was told that this was not a part that was covered under warranty so i would have to pay for it out of pocket. i took the time to talk to several reps at ford and i was told that if the mechanic did not think it was defective then there was nothing they could do. i talked to the mechanic at the dealership and they told me that it just stopped working. so i ended up paying $479.05 for a new throttle body assembly and having to be without my car for a total of four day. only to get it back with a cracked windshield, but that is a different issue.

The first instance i was driving as normal in my vehicle and with out warning going 50 mph my car shut off with no power or ability to do anything besides to try and coast off the road and out of harm. a wrench light flashes when it occurs. the second time i was making a turn at approx 20 mph in a four way light intersection and lost power over the car again with a wrench light appearing again. the only way to gain power again is to put the car in park turn it off and wait a bit to restart the vehicle. when you restart the car the wrench light is gone and the car acts like there was never a problem and runs smoothly. after a 2 day diagnosis by ford they state that the throttle body is the cause of the problem. in total i have had this happen 5 times with out any warning going various speeds and luckly avoiding multiple accidents. like mentioned above after starting the car the wrench light disappears performing as usual.

I purchased my car used with about 43000 miles on it and after only a week of having it i would occasionally notice that while i was accelerating the engine would seem to jump at certain points where it would like pull you up out of your set as if you had a light push from behind you, it doesn't happen a lot it also varies at what speeds it happens at. i didn't think much of it at the time but it seems to do it every so often where it will jump after i take my foot off of the gas pedal or while i am still accelerating.

At approx. 52k while drive approx. 40mph, all fuel power was lost and 'wrench' light came on. had to coast to a stop, car sputtering. put in park and killed the engine. waited a minute, car started with some hesitation. ran diagnostic, nothing. about an hour later, ran some b-12 through fuel; cured. twice again at approx. 56k, same thing (once at 70mph on the interstate and the other at 55mph on a busy highway); ran b-12 both times. on third event, it finally gave a reading - throttle body stuck in open position. brought vehicle to ford dealership, they got the same reading and changed the throttle body to the tune of $350. ford stated there was no technical service manual indication of problem forcing a possible recall. how lucky for me and my kids that we weren't in a high-traffic situation and i could safely maneuver to the shoulder...all three times!

While turning left on a green arrow my accelerator became unresponsive, engine did not stop running but would only coast @ about 2 mph, wrench light icon and check engine light came on. the car was jerking during this slow coast to the side of the intersection. i had to put the car in park and completely shut it off.(as i was hitting my hazard lights and praying i didn't get hit by oncoming traffic as the light had changed by this time.) after a rough restart, it appeared to run fine. i took it to the mechanic and had my fuel system cleaned, but after doing research and finding many owners of the ford fusion have had this recurring problem, seemingly with their throttle body, i am very afraid to drive my car as this problem occurs with no warning beforehand and at all different speeds. i did notify ford customer service and was told that they had no customer service complaints about this problem. when i informed them of all the complaints online, they explained that they only acknowledge official ford websites. i pray that ford will issue a recall and fix this problem before somebody dies. *tr

I was driving down a local road at the limit when the wrench light warning indicator came on, after the indicator was on there was not throttle response, engine was still running and yet no power going to the wheels. i was able to roll over to the side of the road and put on hazard warning lights, car while at idle was jerking and bucking. i then limped the vehicle to a parking lot, placed it in drive and filmed the issue with a cell phone in a parking lot and narrated as to what was happening. once the vehicle was shut down and then restarted the light went out and the problem did not persist. i took it to the dealership and no codes showed up in a diagnostic and the dealership could not reproduce the problem but suspected it was the throttle body controller as this was a common occurrence. *tr

This is the second time in a month that we have had to have the throttle body repaired. the first time, there were error codes that could be used to correct the problem but in less than a month the same problem occurred and this time the entire throttle body has to be replaced. while driving the car lost the ability to accelerate and all propulsion systems did not work. the brakes worked fine but there was no response from the car when i pressed down on the accelerator. this problem needs to be fixed and a recall should be ordered. i have had to pay for this problem 2x and could have been hurt when i was unable to accelerate on the highway and just able to get off the road in time.

Throttle body failure: fist occurrence- driving on highway all of a sudden no power. pressing on the gas nothing happens. no check engine light came on. pulled off to the side of highway and put the car in park. the car starting shaking and the wrench light came on. turned car off, then back on and everything was okay. about 6 hours later this happened again as i was passing in the fast lane, then suddenly lost power. again, no check engine light. same scenario as the first. took it to my mechanic and no error codes register. he checked twice. so for a week and a half the car was fine. then happened twice again, no warning, just lost power. this time a check engine light came on after i put the car in park. had it towed to the auto shop and a code did register this time. had it taken for ford and they had to replace the throttle body. this was a very dangerous situation especially when speeding up to pass as the speed limit on that part of the highway is 75 so cars were coming up fast behind me. if i had caused an accident and injuries occurred the fist or second time it happened on the highway, it would have seemed my fault and there would have been no error codes to at least validate what happened. please, please, issue a recall for the throttle body before someone is hurt. not to mention the people just out of warranty that have to pay for this repair. *tr

On a typical good weather day i was driving around running some errands in the city. shortly after i started the car going at a city traffic rate of speed...approx 35-40mph...i got approximately 5miles out and the car began to slow down, and a wrench sign appeared. even with my foot on the accelerator, i could not accelerate, and went to pull off to the side of the rode which i was barely able to do. once i was fully out of the road, i put the car in park, and before i could shut the car off, it began to shake/ vibrate. i turned the car off and let it sit a couple minutes and i proceeded to start the car up, which it did so like the day i bought it, and the wrench sign went away. i proceeded to my first destination with out any problems. i left my destination and proceeded to my next...i got about 3miles out and the car did, and showed the same thing. so as i decided to just head home which was no more than 10 miles away, the car did the same thing 5 more times and the check engine light came on!!!!! i am now home and afraid to drive anywhere. i got online to see what it could possibly be, and i have not been able to call a mechanic because it is of course a holiday weekend!!! *tr

For several weeks i've been noticing a sputter/vibration when in idle or park. this has only happened intermittently. this morning, while driving to work at approximately 65 mph, car suddenly begins to lose power and surge/vibrate/sputter and i notice the wrench light illuminated. i'm completely unable to accelerate and all i can do is coast to a stop on the shoulder of the (very busy) highway. after shutting the car off and sitting for about 15 minutes i'm able to restart the car with no indication there was ever a problem. the car is running smoothly and wrench light is off. i drove it to the nearest dealer's service department where i left it for inspection. as usual, i had to call the service department for an update and was told that the car was not acting up and everything seemed to be fine. they did agree to keep it for another round of inspections for the next day or so but i suspect i'll get the same response. after doing some light research, i've discovered that this is a very common issue with the fusions but there is no recall or tsb addressing it. i've read post after post after post written by infuriated fusion owners about this problem. it's time for ford to own up to this, get a solution, and send out the recall notices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *tr

I had been driving on a surface street for about 1 mile after coming off a highway. the car had come to a stop at least twice at traffic lights. i was coasting (foot not on brake or accelerator) when the car accelerated on its own from ~30 mph as if the cruise control (cc) had been activated. i touched the brake as quickly as possible (probably < 1sec of acceleration) and conditions returned to normal. looking at the dash, i noted that the cc master switch was on, but cc was not active before acceleration event or after braking. state during acceleration is unknown. my fingers were nowhere near the cc buttons (or any other steering wheel buttons) when the event occured. prior to the event: i was on a highway traveling about 60-65 mph with cc on and active. when cc is active, i always keep a thumb on the cancel/resume button. traffic slowed and i braked, then hit c/r (turning cc back to active -- my error). i immediately noticed the error and set the cc back to inactive (either by brake or cancel, i can't recall). cc was left in its master-on/inactive state when i came off the highway with active velocity set somewhere in the 60-65 mph range. this was the state of the cc system when the above described event occured. *tr

I was driving down the highway when i noticed that i could no longer accelerate. i coasted to a stop, the car shaking as it came to a stop. i placed the car in park, turned the car off, and restarted. it started up fine, and then it happened again about 10 minutes later. after a mechanic was unable to duplicate the problem, i thought it was perhaps bad gas and moved on. two weeks later, it happened twice, once stopping me in the middle of a busy intersection (because this time i wasn't going 60mph this time). the diagnosis from ford: a faulty throttle body sensor. the car is barely three years old, it has a significant defect (not caused by wear-and-tear or user-error), but it is not covered under their warranty. the mechanic at ford says that they see a lot of these situations. they are grossly negligent in not warning families and offering to fix their mistakes by replacing the bad throttle body components. *tr

I was pulling my 2010 ford fusion hybrid into a parking space at about 3 mph and the car suddenly surged forward. to avoid impact into the car in front of me, i turned the car into a parking block next to my parking space. as i did this, i jammed on the brake, put it in park and turned it off. damage to front bumper and casing in front of tire from hitting the parking block. drove to dealership with no problems. diagnostics revealed nothing. contacted ford corp. about the incident and will await to see if they will cover damages to my vehicle. *tr

Was driving down the highway at 60-65 mph when suddenly car jerked and lost all acceleration power. the rpms were stuck (not going up or down) and car began to slow down. the wrench light came on. i had to pull to the side of the highway to avoid getting hit. tried putting the car in park and back into drive, but it started shaking, so had to turn off the car, let it sit for a few minutes and re-start the car. it drove normally after re-start, however this was the second occurrence in one week and am now scared to drive it long distances or on the highway. ford needs to fix this issue before someone gets hurt! *tr

Was driving down the highway at 60-65 mph when suddenly car jerked and lost all accelleration power. the rpms were stuck (not going up or down) and car began to slow down. the wrench light came on. i had to pull to the side of the highway to avoid getting hit. tried putting the car in park and back into drive, but it started shaking, so had to turn off the car, let it sit for a few minutes and re-start the car. it drove normally after re-start, however this was the second occurance in one week and am now scared to drive it long distances or on the highway. ford needs to fix this issue before someone gets hurt!

Driving on highway the accelerator stopped working. pulled the car off the road avoiding accident. turned car off. turned car back on working normally. 1 mile later same problem occurred. this happened 12 times in 12 mile stretch. throttle body is bad. this is common problem and needs to be recalled. *tr

Driving on florida turnpike, just got on highway and at high speed the check engine light came on, diagnosed as code p2111, throttle stuck open by dtc reader. immediately lost power and about grinded to a halt, had to pull off road and limp to next exit. vehicle stuck in idle until restarted and had no further problems for a few miles but keeps coming up. cannot drive car on highway for fear of another dangerous failure. ford says throttle body is bad, no warrantied after 36,000 miles. *tr

All of a sudden the rpm's immediately dropped to a rough idle. all throttle response was lost, i pulled over on the highway, where the vehicle was in limp mode with the check engine and wrench lights illuminated. the engine was idling very erratically and shaking, there was no response when pressing the accelerator. after shutting down the car, it restarted ok and drove. it suddenly did the same thing 2 more times before i was able to get home. the obd2 code was p2111, the drive by wire throttle bodies on these cars are faulty. seems to be a common problem. *tr

I was driving on a busy highway going about 70 mph and all of a sudden i had no gas peddle. i had my 3 year old daughter in the car at the time. i had no clue what was going on and almost got hit from behind bc i had not touched my brake yet. i pulled over and my car did restart but i did not make it far before it did it again. i took got my car to the dealership and they told me the throttle body needed to be replaced. my car has 40,000 miles i got it brand new off the lot and it's not covered in the extended warranty. the dealership acted like it was no big deal. let me drive off the lot. they also wanted 250 more to repair it. looking online i'm finding out that this is happening to so many people. ford needs to have a recall on this part before someone does in an accident. i called ford myself and filed a formal complaint. please everyone must do the same that is the only way to prevent this from happening to someone else. *tr

While traveling on the expressway with the cruise control on my engine returned to idle speed and there was no response from the accelerator pedal. i had to coast to a stop on the shoulder, put the car in park, shut it off, and restart it. the next day this happened again twice, the check engine light came on, i read the code and it was p2112 throttle actuator control system stuck shut. i did some research and there are apparently some known problems with the throttle body assembly. my car is out of warranty and the dealer told me this part isn't covered under the extended emissions warranty. i was lucky that this didn't happen while i was turning or merging into traffic. *tr

Was driving on at 65mph on a state highway and passing another vehicle when my vehicle suddenly stopped responding to the accelerator. the engine dropped to 750 rpm and wouldn't do anything in response to my attempts to accelerate. the vehicle slowed quite rapidly because of this problem and i had to take evasive action to avoid a crash. there was no warning prior to it happening and no sounds associated with the incident. if my wife had been driving i know there would have been an accident. after turning off the vehicle and restarting it, the vehicle drove properly. when i returned home, i checked for any codes and found there were none. took the vehicle to the dealer for repair and was told it is probably the throttle body control; we know there have been many incidents like this. this was reported yesterday in another incident but not with speed control as the affected part. i did not know it was an option at that time. *tr

On 7/22/2012 at approximately 2000 hours my family was traveling southbound on georgia state route 3 - us hwy. 41 in rocky face, georgia when our vehicle (2010 ford fusion automatic transmission) suddenly without notice went from a solid cruising speed of 40mph to an abrupt halt - nose of the car actually went forward towards the ground so abruptly that it made contact with the ground. the vehicle stalled (still barely running) in the lane of travel and would not get any throttle acceleration. my family and vehicle was almost struck by on coming motorists from the rear due to the abrupt stopping and the vehicle would barely get any throttle acceleration. after the georgia state patrol trooper came to assist the car would not go above 25 mph without suddenly stalling and the check engine light coming on along with an orange wrench symbol. the vehicle had to be abandoned at the dalton georgia state patrol post due to this issue until ford could send a representative to tow the vehicle to the local dealer where we purchased. the local dealer on 7/23/12 informed us that this is an on-going problem that ford is aware of and that the throttle body would have to be replaced. upon further online investigation i found that this issue is widespread and reported since 2010 & has caused very unsafe conditions for motorists such as it did with my family. i am asking you all to look into recalling the throttle body on the 2010 ford fusions to be replaced. this is a problem that ford is aware of and they are blatantly passing the blame off onto the consumer and someone (if not my own family) is going to get hurt. it is unsafe for a late model vehicle that has been serviced as required by the manufacture every 3-5 months to have these abrupt issues and break my family down in the roadway of travel on a major us highway. nhtsa please have ford correct before someone gets injured!! *tr

On 7/22/2012 at approxamately 2000 hours my family was traveling southbound on georgia state route 3 - us hwy. 41 in rocky face, georgia when our vehicle (2010 ford fusion automatic transmission) suddenly without notice went from a solid cruising speed of 40mph to an abrupt halt - nose of the car actually went forward towards the ground so abruptly that it made contact with the ground. the vehicle stalled (still barely running) in the lane of travel and would not get any throttle acceleration. my family and vehicle was almost struck by on coming motorists from the rear due to the abrupt stopping and the vehicle would barely get any throttle acceleration. after the georgia state patrol trooper came to assist the car would not go above 25 mph without suddenly stalling and the check engine light coming on along with an orange wrench symbol. the vehicle had to be abandoned at the dalton georgia state patrol post due to this issue until ford could send a representative to tow the vehicle to the local dealer where we purchased. the local dealer on 7/23/12 informed us that this is an on-going problem that ford is aware of and that the throttle body would have to be replaced. upon further online investigation i found that this issue is widespread and reported since 2010 & has caused very unsafe conditions for motorists such as it did with my family. i am asking you all to look into recalling the throttle body on the 2010 ford fusions to be replaced. this is a problem that ford is aware of and they are blatently passing the blame off onto the consumer and someone (if not my own family) is going to get hurt. it is unsafe for a late model vehicle that has been serviced as requried by the manufacture every 3-5 months to have these abrupt issues and break my family down in the roadway of travel on a major us highway. nhtsa please have ford correct before someone gets injured!!

On june 19, 2012, driving at approximately 40 mph, the car does not respond to pressing gas pedal, and it slows to a stop; everything else seems to continue to work fine. turned car off, then restarted it with no issues. on july 7, 2012, again driving at about 40-45 mph, the car starts to jerk, the gas pedal doesn't work, and the car starts to slow, while jerking, and a wrench/tool symbol appears on the dashboard. i pulled over, turned the car off, then turned it back on. i made it about 1 mile (close to home) and the car loses power in the same manner, jerking and slowing, gas pedal doesn't work, and the wrench light and the engine light both come on. i was able to roll down the road into my driveway. final incident with the same issues occurred on july 9, 2012. i called ford (car was still under warranty), and they said it was the throttle body, and the throttle body was replaced. *tr

I and my children were traveling down the highway at 60 mph and i all of a sudden i could not give the car any gas. the motor was still running but i had no control over the gas. so i coasted until i could pull over. as i slowed down, the car shuttered. i turned the car off and restarted it. it ran fine for awhile. then it happened again and again (as i was entering an intersection, turning onto a major highway, and rounding a curve) until it was happening 3-4 times in a trip. i took the vehicle in to the dealership and they cleaned the throttle body. it ran ok for about 2 weeks and then became worse than it was before. i took it back to the dealership and they replaced the throttle body. so now time will tell. i was/am concerned about the fact i might not have been so lucky to be able to get off of the road and could have been in an accident. i have seen that this is a common occurrence in the 2010 ford fusion. i have contacted ford motor company as well to no avail. *tr

On take off in heavy traffic the transmission slipped and jerked hard. i was frightened and pulled over for about 20 minutes to call my dad whom is a mechanic. he stated that it was the transmission and that i should drive it home which was a hour away. i was scared that it would do it again at full speed. 2 days later as i tried to reverse out of my driveway the car revved up but didn't move then jerked into gear and i flew out the driveway very hard and jerking violently. i don't want to drive with my niece or my little 4 year old brother in case of something dangerous. i haven't experienced this ever with a vehicle. i plan to take the car in immediately! i have been driving another car for the moment. because i have to travel alot.

The first time, the car was pulling on to a main road going up to 15 mph while turning right. the car began to shudder, stall (only able to coast to a stop), many warning lights including the wrench light came on and dinged. after shutting the key off and waiting up to a couple of minutes, engine started fine and drove normally. 1 month later, this exact scenario happened again while turning right from a complete stop. 1 month later, it happened again but with only the yellow wrench light coming on (the car was curving to the right at about 40 mph). 2 days later the car did the same thing at about 35 mph. this time the car would start up, and be fine until we accelerated. we narrowly avoided an accident when the car did the same thing a second time. it then did it a third time and we waited to start the car. we were then able to drive the car home normally with a code alert on the dash. i took the car to get a diagnosis and they showed code p2111.

While traveling in traffic the car lost power. i was able to steer to the shoulder of the road where the car idled roughly and i noticed a wrench light came on. i shut the car down while i collected my thoughts on what to do. i used my phone to find the closest ford dealer and, before calling for a tow vehicle, i tried to restart the car. it restarted, the wrench light was off, and it seemed to run fine. i drove directly to the nearest ford dealer without incident where they hooked up the computer to see what was wrong. they could find nothing wrong and suggested the next time it happened to try and get it to a dealer while the light was on. i then drove approximately 120 miles home with my grandson. this morning i went on the internet to see if there were any similar instances such as mind and found there were quite a few: (http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2010/ford/fusion/power_train/problem.aspx) the incidents others reported were almost identical to mine. i then called the dealer i bought the car from new, and they ran a check to see if there were any recalls on my model and there weren't. they suggested i call ford customer service. i tried calling them and was told by a representative they were having technical issues and couldn't help me, to call back in an hour. i live in a very rural area. the closest ford dealer is probably 50-60miles away. the roads here don't have much room to pull off on if the car fails again. judging by the complaints i have seen online, it seems there is a problem with this car and there should be some action being taken to remedy it. this situation creates a safety hazard for anyone driving or riding in the car.

Over the last couple weeks i have noticed slight jerks or sputters when i'm driving. speed ranges anywhere from 10-70 mph when it occurs. this morning on the highway it was much more noticeable and after about 10 miles the wrench light came on and i lost all acceleration, luckily the right lane was clear and i could get to the shoulder safely. as i slowed down the engine shook heavily and i turned the car off. i waited a couple minutes and restarted the car fine...no light, no shaking. i was able to drive the 3.5 miles to work. same day, driving home i made it about 10 miles again and the same thing happened. i waited a couple minutes, restarted and made it to a shop a couple miles down the road (still could feel the jerking slightly but the light didn't come on and i didn't lose acceleration). once i got there and they hooked up the diagnostic machine they could not read any codes, which is very common from what i'm reading about other fusion owners who have this problem. they are going to drive it in the morning so they can read the code when the light comes on and hopefully determine if it is the throttle body. i am so frustrated as this car is barely 2 years old and apparently this is a very common and dangerous problem.

Making a left hand turn from a complete stop onto a busy avenue when the wrench light on the dash light up, the car started to shudder & could not accelerate, and had to pull over to the side of the road. turned car off and back on and it happened again within 1 mile. drove to the home of a friend and had him go with me to try and figure out what was wrong. car shook hard and nearly died when coming to a stop sign. after doing a google search of the problem i found it to be a very widespread problem and many times at 70 mph in heavy traffic even on new cars with as few as 1300 miles on them. this is very dangerous and only a matter of time before somebody dies. in many cases rather than losing the ability to accelerate, the opposite will happen and the car goes full throttle forward! there is an avalanche of documentation on this problem and ford refuses to do a safety recall. the nhtsa's sole reason to exist in the first place is safety and this is clearly unsafe. rest assured that if the nhtsa does not force ford to do a recall people will die. as for myself and several others i have been in contact with, we will be filing a lawsuit against ford for their negligence and the nhtsa for failing to act despite the large volume of readily accessible information regarding this very serious safety issue.

Going about 75 mph with cruise on when problem occurred. the wrench light comes on and the car loses its acceleration completely. i pull over the side of the road. the engine would only turn 1000 rpm. the only way to fix it is to turn the car off and back on again. the wrench light will disappear after that and it'll start driving normally again. the problems seems to be with a bad throttle body assembly part. contacted ford about safety problem. many examples on the internet of other owners with this problem with the 2010 ford fusion.

I drive approximately 30 miles on the highway to get to work. the day this problem first occurred, i got off the highway and came to a stop sign. i checked for traffic both directions. a car was coming from the left, and i was turning right. i knew with my car's acceleration i had plenty of space to pull out safely (it has a v6 engine, automatic transmission). i hit the gas and pulled out. the car did not accelerate as expected. i barely hit 5 mph and the tachometer redlined. i took my foot off the gas pedal and tried again. same thing - redlined. the third time i tried, the car shuddered and finally shifted to the next gear. the car behind me was far enough away to slow down safely, but in a different situation they could have easily hit me. i just rolled out in front of them because the car didn't respond when i hit the gas. immediately after that incident, i scheduled a service appointment at a ford dealership. the first available appointment was two weeks out. i booked the appointment and continued to (cautiously) drive my car to work. the car ran rough even at constant highway speeds. last night i dropped my car off at the dealership for the service appointment. i took the highway to get there. when i tried to accelerate to merge onto the highway, the problem occurred again. i rolled out into traffic at about 5 mph, hitting the gas pedal and getting nothing. again, i was lucky that there was enough room between me and the approaching traffic. this problem could have easily caused a bad accident. my car is currently at the ford dealership. i'm waiting for them to call back with a diagnosis.

2010 ford fushion car stauled and engine shut off in heavy traffic 2 mths ago. had to pull over. cranked it was fine. days later, engine begins to crank every few days, slow at first but will start. been going on since. 3 wks today, car powers down while driving 65 mph this morning on main int. hwy.the wrench light came on dashboard. car would not accelarate when i pressed the gas peddle. had to coast to er lane. car was running, but could not accellarate at all. when stopped, turned car off. recranked engine. wrench light went off, and drove to work fine. took to dealer today. while explaining the issue, an employee overheard and said do you drive a fushion? i said yes, he said its your throttle body. he says this without even looking at the car! confirmed it was throttle body part after inspection. part was not in stock. told i could drive car home. they would call when part comes in. dealer called this evening and said my manf. warranty was past time, and additional warranty tech would not cover throttle body part. part expense $261 plus taxes and 30 minutes labor time to install. i'm distubred to know ford is aware and others are having this problem and i am extremely scared to drive this car knowing it stalled at 65 miles an hour!!! someone needs to pull these cars off the road and make the repairs to these vehicles. i have never owned an american made car. this is my first one. some first impression. i will be trading this car as soon as i can. i am just so disappointed in ford claiming the built ford tough motto. this isnt tough, its dangerous! i've never owned a car where being less than 2yrs old, a part already has to be replaced? seriously?? ford should pay attention to their complaints. how many complaints does it take to get a recall??????????? mine makes number 320........ a recall should be after 2 people are claiming the same thing.

Car had a faulty throttle body, which would cause the car to lose power. you could be running any speed and the car would jerk and you would have no power car would coast to the side of the road. very dangerous on the interstate or any heavy traffic. the dealer knew exactly what the problem was when i descibed it to him, which led me to believe they have seen this problem many times. checked online and saw where many others had the same problem. ford told me it was my problem and were sorry it had happened but there was nothing they could do. case #1590850462. this is a very dangeruos problem if the vehicle is in traffic.ford has had a recall on the transmission which was due to holes being drilled wrong on the throttle body.

While travelling 45 mph lost accelaration and coasted to side of the road. wrench or service light came on. shut car off and waited about 30 seconds and restarted car and service light went off and car operated normally. took the car to nearest dealer and they said they couldnt pull up any diagnostic codes and for me to wait for the problem to occur again and bring it back. car only has 37000 miles and after doing some research i have found multiple complaints about the very same issue with other fusion owners. all the cars that have been repaired had to replace the throttle body.

While traveling in my new ford fusion approximately between 55 - 60 mph on the expressway, without any warning my car speed dropped instantly from 55-60 mph down to 5 mph, at the same time the wrench on the dashboard illuminated. unable to excellerate i immediately hit my hazards barely making it accross two lanes to the shoulder and to safety, i turned the car off, and then back on, all seem well. thank god, the traffic was not heavy. i took the car to ford, after only one day in the shop i was informed, that they were unable to duplicate the problem and that it was hooked to and tested with the diagnostics machine. i was told that maybe it was just a glitch, or fluke, reluctant, i accepted my car back. but, needless to say exactly one week later it happened again, this time i was on the entrance ramp to a very crowded expressway, traveling approximately 30 mph, speed suddenly dropped to less than 5 mph, accelleration was not possible wrench light illuminated. next morning back in fords shop. after having my car for eight days and 40+ miles added to my ford fusion i was informed that the problem could not be duplicated. i contacted ford customer service and voiced my concern, one day later i was informed my car was ready and that the problem was identified, and the throttle had to be replaced.

There was a recall on the 2010 ford fusion transmissions. i took the car in on 12/31/10 to automax ford, killeen, tx. they told me that nothing was wrong with it and it is fine. on 3 august 2011 my car felt like it did a downshift while going down the highway. at this point my accelerator fails to work. the car is not in any gear and even when i give the car gas the engine will not rev. i then have to come to a complete stop and put the car in park. while in park the car idles really heavy like and stuttters to keep going so i have to turn the car off. when i turn the car back on it will turn over about 6 or 7 times before it starts. i have to do this process every time the car does this which has been about 6 times in the past two days. the incident happens on the highway and in regular city driving. i believe automax ford has failed to do the inspection right and now the recall letter is expired as of april 2011. i was also deployed overseas during that time period of expiration.

I was driving on the freeway 101. i accelerated to change lanes and the gas pedal stuck in that position. i put on the brakes to slow me down as soon as i took my foot off the brake the car started to speed again, i braked again and exited the freeway and pulled to the side of road, put it in neutral and turned of the engine. when i looked at the gas pedal, the rubber mat had stuck on top of the accelerator. i called my ford dealer today they had no knowledge of this problem, however i noted on the web today you had issued a warning about this problem in june of 2010, we bought our car in oct. 2010, and i guess ford didn't tell dealers not to put this all weather mat on top of an existing mat, as per their printed instructions on the mat itself.

I have a 2010 ford fusion with 13k miles on it, that has been providing me with tremendous amount of heartache. the vehicle will automatically slip into random gears while driving, even to the extent of shifting from 6 gear all the way down to 1st. i was driving down i-17 in arizona doing the speed limit of 75mph when for the second time it slipped all the way in to 1st gear. both times this occurred it nearly caused an accident because my speed decreased so suddenly i was almost rear end at 75mph. i am actually fearful for my wife, who primarily drives it, and my son safely. i have brought the vehicle in before and they can

Several weeks before the incident, i removed the driver's side all-weather floor mat (the factory-developed optional one) from our 2010 ford fusion hybrid and tossed it in the trunk. in the days leading up to this incident, the car had been to the body shop and the car wash. as near as i can tell an attendant at one of those places must have discovered the mat in the trunk and helpfully reinstalled it. but i didn't notice this right away. when commuting to work on april 16th, i pressed the accelerator to the floor as i moved into a much faster traffic lane. upon completion of this maneuver i eased up on the gas, but the pedal stayed down and the car kept accelerating, unintentionally at this point. at first i wasn't sure what was going on, but after about 3 or 4 seconds i heard a click, the pedal returned to normal and the car slowed. it was then that i thought of the all-weather floor mat, and when traffic cleared i tried another experimental full-throttle dab to see if i was correct. it happened again (but i was ready for it), with the pedal releasing on its own after a few seconds, just like before. at this point i was careful not to disturb the mat's position so i could take video of the problem once i arrived at work. once in the garage, and with the engine off, i was able to replicate the floor mat-throttle interference on-camera. as before, the pedal stayed stuck for about 3 seconds after i pressed it to the floor. i was able to repeat this several times. but in one trial the stuck throttle persisted for over 30 seconds, with the pedal staying stuck despite vigorous stamping in an effort to free it. the only way it came loose was by lifting my heel which, in the normal driving posture, had apparently been pinning the mat down and making it less flexible. with the heel pressure removed, the mat bent up out of the way and the pedal began a slow return. a you tube video link is available upon request

I was pulled into a parking spot in the parking lot of my gym, and the car was close to stopping, or stopped. the car accelerated, and i hit the building. when the crash was over, i looked down and my car's gear was in park. either the car was already in park, and my foot was still on the brake, or my foot was on the break, and as the car accelerated forward, my hand hit the gear, putting it in park. i have pictures demonstrating skid marks (showing the brakes were engaged). the car is a hybrid model. *tr

Ford fusion 2010 s - when the brake was depressed the car accelerated until i depressed a second time much harder. the consumer first began to notice the vehicle would intermittently not start in august. he took the vehicle to the dealer, but they were unable to duplicate the problem. the consumer insisted there was a problem and eventually, they found a technical service bulletin that addressed the issue. the problem was attributed to radio frequency intermittently corrupting the crankshaft position sensor and a new ground strip was installed. the problem seemed to be rectified. the weather stripping surrounding the rear window was loose, there was loose metal around the passenger rear wheel. *jb
