Defect SummaryThe labels reminding operators closing the fuel tank crossover valves to reopen the valves before operating the engines were omitted. if the tanks are over half full and vehicle operation was resumed without reopening the fuel tank cross-over valves, pressure could build in one of the tanks.
Consequence SummaryPressure build-up could result in rupture of a fuel tank and spilling diesel fuel, which can cause a fire.
Corrective SummaryOwners will be mailed a pair of labels and installation instructions. if the owner prefers, a dealer can install the labels.
