Ford lcf has had continual problems when driven at higher speeds. vehicle stalls out and can only be restarted after cool down. we have had the vehicle in for repeated service but the problem continues. we have concluded that the only solution is not to drive this truck at higher speeds and keep it in town. the dealer has replaced injectors and other fuel delivery parts and on one service call stated that the truck needed an oil change. previous oil change was at 3000 miles. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 ford lcf l55. while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled and caused the contact to pull over. the vehicle would not restart and was towed to the dealer. the dealer stated that the fuel pump, filter, and tank were defective. the vehicle was repaired. the vehicle was towed on three more occasions due to the same failure over the past year. after the most recent failure, the manufacturer and the dealer stated that they were no longer liable for the repairs because the vehicle was not under warranty. the vehicle has not been repaired again. the current mileage was 37,500 and failure mileage was 20,358.

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 ford lcf. while driving approximately 55 mph on normal road conditions, the engine stalled without warning. the contact made several attempts before the engine restarted. the warning indicators were not illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing and they stated that the failure was related to the fuel system. the technician replaced the fuel pump and fuel injectors under the warranty. the vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer on three separate occasions for identical failures, but there were no resolutions. there was a previous safety complaint filed for this vehicle over a year ago, which consisted of different safety issues. the failure mileage was 46,000 and current mileage was 47,000. updated 02/24/08. *lj unknown 02/25/09. *jb

Corrosion of the fuel liner in ford lcf diesel trucks. also in f350 and other diesel work trucks. the fuel liner corrodes clogging the fuel filter. it starves the engine of fuel causing it to stop running. it eventually ruins the fuel injection system. repairs range from $1200 to $6000. *tr

We purchase the ford lcf in april of 2006 and had our first fuel pump replacement in feb. of 2007 at just over 14,000 miles. luckily the first replacement was under warranty, since the first repair/replacement we have had the truck down for similar related items to fuel pump 7 times. we stopped bringing it to rush truck center after warranty was expired because their rates are so high. this year it was down almost 45 days off the road dealing with ford corporate office begging them to do a buy back, because this vehicle is costing us as an arm and a leg and negativly affects our business. the vehicle barely has 65,000 miles and has become so undependable that we don't know what to do. our business is directly related to construction, we as many others are barely hanging on and cannot just replace this vehicle. it also has a defect related to the air-conditioner. the ac unit is placed directly above the front wheel well without any metal barrier, it went out as well within the first 18 months of ownership, and will be over $1800.00 to repair/replace the unit. we opted out of the repair because the mechanic told us one small rock will just cause the same damage and go right through the compressor because of the poor placement. we have contacted ford and were suppose to get a buy back answer withing 14 days it took many phone calls and we finally got a very polite 'no way' on our buy back request. all we want is a dependable delivery truck! it is paid off and we don't have the money to replace it. please help!

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 ford lcf truck. the contact was driving approximately 65 mph when the engine stalled without warning. the vehicle was restarted after waiting twenty minutes and was taken to an authorized dealer ten times for the similar defect and repaired each time under the service warranty. the vehicle was later taken to an independent mechanic where the fuel delivery rail was replaced. the failure persisted after the repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 2,760.

I have a f150 2006 supercrew. notice on the date below that i was having problems with my fuel gauge. it was add fuel, when i didn't have that much in there. filled up on nov 4th 20.00$ worth of gas and by nov 7th i had a full tank. took to ford dealer they replaced just about everything that is affect with the fuel. took home still had issues the next day. took back they revisited everything and even contacted ford in detroit. they weren't sure what was wrong they think it is the fuel gauge. they would have to order on in but they are not sure when they will have parts to replace the instrument panel. (no time frame). there response to me was fill up and watch gauge and your mileage. that easy to say when they are not paying for gas. filled up today as soon as i got done my gauge went to below empty, and my idiot light came on. my concern is when the light is on you can't tell how many miles you have traveled, and whether will the trk will shut off by the computer reading that there is no fuel in the tank. to me that is a safety issue. please let me know. mr. reier *tr
