| Driving at 40 mph started into turn but not yet turning the steering wheel the tires locked up and steering wheel locked up for no apparent reason. the car viered off the road and into a farmers field. i was only bruised but the car is damaged. ford service rep. is stating the car is showing no faulty codes. the brakes had been replaced under warranty just three weeks earlier and the car would not start for no apparent reason back in july and august finally fixed they replaced the starter (ford) | |||

| When driving 30 mph and upon depressing brake pedal to make a normal stop steering wheel locked up, causing extended stopping distance, resulting in an accident. many mechanics stated to the consumer that the weight shifts from the back to the front when the brakes are applied, causing the anti-brake system to become confused and lock up the steering wheel. the consumer would then have to pump the brakes quickly to disengage the locked steering wheel, the vehicle has been labeled as a lemon by the national transportation safety board and ford credit service center and representatives. *slc | |||

| Excessive wear of rear brake shoes due to defective caliper. vehicle experienced a head gasket failure due to water pump breaking off bracket, and causing a serpentine belt failure. dealer / manufacturer notified, and informed consumer that nothing would be done due to expired warranty, and vehicle was not covered under a recall. *ak consumer had water pump casing and bills on request. *yh | |||

| The stalling problem is a major safety hazard. the car stalls when the brake pedal is depressed (in neutral gear). the power steering and power brakes also lose power, causing me to do whatever not to crash. i know of other mustangs noticing the same problem. my car was serviced at the dealer for this specific problem, but failed to fix it. | |||
