| I took my car back to dealer for some warranty repairs and they asked me if my car had been in an accident. i advised them no, it was purchased new. they said my vin# was invalid. after checking further they discovered my vin number on the dash and the vin number on the door were different. i have been told to never allow a vin# to be changed, however, they want to remove my windshield and replace the vin plate to match what they say is the rest of the vin#'s on the vehicle. i do not feel this is acceptable. i entered the contract to purchase this car in good faith and feel that ford should do the same. i was told by a highway patrol officer that if i had ever been pulled over and they had run my vin# that they would have impounded my car for an invalid vin and probably arrested me for driving a stolen vehicle. they say this is a simple fix and won't cause problems down the road for me. i want them to buy back the vehicle or replace it with one that has matching vin and vin plate numbers. this is the only fix that will allow me to feel safe. the regional rep jocelyn dunning for ford said no way, although this doesn't happen often, it doesn't fall under the lemon law. when asked to speak to her superior she advised us she was it. when questioned further, she does have a superior, but she is the only one to make this determination. help! *nm | |||
