My 2007 ford mustang has had a water leak under the passenger side area that has and is still causing electrical shortage in the car. everytime it rains water gets into the vehicle and causes major damage. ford dealership will not repair it under warranty and my out of pocket expenses to fix this problem would be enormous. this water leak is a tsb on ford's site which means they know something is wrong with the 05-09 models. my car is now out of commision and will not start. i have replaced two batteries over the last year because of the water leak causing shortages in my car. this car is now a lemon beccause of the severe water damage ford has caused my vehicle to receive. i have a vehicle that will not start and ford will not repair without payment. i am sending this complaint so that a recall can be issused so i can repair my car. ford knows there is a major problem and has done nothing about this. this is a $35,000 vehicle and only 5 years old and the engine won't even start. this issue is a major electrical hazard and is a danger to myself and my children. *tr

2007 ford mustang v6 has water leaking from underneath passenger dash. after inspection water was seen dripping rapidly from climate control fan box onto exposed electrical wire connections. only happens when it rains and water can be heard splashing within fan box when driving. ford issued a tsb but water dripping on exposed electric can cause risk of short and fire.

Water leak on passenger side under dash, soaking carpet, 1st incident but after investigating further i am not the only one, could lead to electrical failure. why isn't it required to supply the purchaser of vehicle any tsb that has been issued for said vehicle. i could have possibly prevented this if i had been made aware of the potential problem. the release of any tsb should be mandatory!!!! *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford mustang. after it rained or was taken through a car wash, water would flood the vehicle. she took the vehicle to the dealership on three occasions and the vehicle was sealed with silicone, and the carpets and windshield were replaced twice. the sealants around the window, the firewall, the rear well, passenger door trim panel and many other parts of the vehicle were common places of water intrusion. the manufacturer sent a service engineer to inspect the vehicle. the vehicle was sealed. none of the repairs have remedied the failure. the current mileage was approximately 21,500. the failure mileage was 21,273. updated 01/25/10 *bf upadted 01/26/10.*jb

Many ford mustangs 2005-2009 are experiencing water leaks. the water drains from the bottom of the passenger side dashboard onto the passenger's feet. during rain storms, the water saturates the rug area unless you have a towel. under the dashboard, wet wires can be seen. for some reason, ford will not issue a recall even though there is a 2006 tsb on this very issue. to stop the flood, consumers are forced to pay for the repairs out of their own pocket. please search the internet to read all the complaints. the few mustangs owners who do not experience this problem tend to garage the cars and only drive them in nice weather. please hold ford accountable for this obvious manufacturing defect by forcing a recall and 100% reimbursement for those who already paid to fix the problem. *tr thank you.

I purchased a used 2007 ford mustang shelby gt with 15k miles. there were 3 spots on the hood where paint had bubbled. a local body shop said the problem was that steel rivets had been used to secure the hood pin disks to the hood and one spot at the air scoop; aluminum rivets should have been used.

I just purchased this car in september and during the first hard rain my floor was completely soaked with a puddle on the passenger side floor. and when i would drive, you could hear the water pouring onto the floor. now my passenger side window does not work properly. i will put it down and then try to put it up and it will keep going up and down on it's own. i have not taken the vehicle to a dealer but have spoken to my mechanic about the problem and he is researching the problem.

Day after a rain a rain storm heard water dripping then i was going up a small hill and i heard water pouring. i looked over at the passenger side and saw water flowing in by the glove box. i pulled over and saw about 3 inches of water on the passenger side floor. droped car off 5 min later as dealer ship is on my way to work found passneger side door seal leaking replaced at cost of 320$ because car was just out of warrenty but miles are only 35250 miles. now my shaker 500 audio won't recognize aux audio. going to bring back and complain. i found this to be a common problem after some research and that ford knows about it. i think this problem is because of the change in the door design with the short drop window and no full frame around the window. what makes this worse for me is my brother has a 1988 mustang x police car that has original seals aand weather striping and has never had a problem at over 100000 miles.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 ford mustang. the contact stated that the seat belt warning light failed. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the instrument cluster was replaced. the failure recurred approximately three years later. the contact also stated that the turn signal indicator would blink very rapidly whenever a turn signal was engaged. the vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer and the cables which control the rear lights were replaced. in addition, the contact stated that the battery would drain very rapidly. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and a large battery was installed as a replacement, but the failure continued. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that water was leaking in through the firewall. as a result, this was the source of all of the electrical problems. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. the failure mileage was 1,800. kmj

Went to drive my 3 and a half year old mustang to work the other day after a big rainstorm. noticed a musty mold smell but assumed it was nothing. as i drove my car up my driveway, (a slight incline) gallons of water spilled out from under the dashboard on the passenger side behind the glove box. used a carpet extractor to vacuum up over 2 gallons of water (no kidding, emptied 1 gallon extractor tank 3 times) brought the car to the dealership where it was purchased and was informed that the car needed a repair that was outlined in a technical service bullitin from ford, but because my car was no longer under warranty, i would be responsible for paying for the repair -and that the gem module needed to be replaced as the water had poured into and damaged it. the price for this, not including replacing the ruined carpet and pad or the rusted seat mounting brackets was over $1100. it says right in the tsb from ford that this issue is caused by gaps in the sealant around drainage grommets inside the firewall, yet somehow this is the customers problem??? researching online i've encountered hundreds of horror stories from other owners with the same issue, but ford has been denying this since at least 2005. (6 years!!) they need to be forced to recall these vehicles as it is painfully obvious that they refuse to do so voluntarily... the 3 year old vehicle is now a moldy health hazzard and i'm told that it's just a matter of time before the electrical problems begin.thank you for providing me a forum to vent my frustrations over my swamp buggy as i have gotten no satisfaction anywhere else. sincerely, -john w. dell

There is a water leak in the front of my mustang, such that when it rains water comes through onto my feet. due to the structure of the car allowing water to flow in areas that it should not, this caused water to ruin my windshield wiper motor. i had it replaced and my car looked at by two different mechanics who could not find the reason for the water flowing into my car and onto my windshield wiper motor. today, as i was driving in the middle of a rainstorm, my windshield wipers stopped working again, and the motor was shorted out by the rain water. i see there is tsb out for this car and structural issues causing water to flow in the front, but twice now i have been driving in a rainstorm and unable to use my windshield wipers. this caused difficulty seeing while driving which i feel is a very serious safety concern. the water damage has caused me to pay for not only two windshield wiper motors but it is also causing mold/mildew in my car interior.

2007 manufacturing defect: extensive leaking of water into electrical components. causing lights to go off,or sometimes go on without switching on, windows go up and down by themselves, occasionally motor cuts out on highway, cruise control operates intermittently. eventually this will also result in premature structural damage

Since new delivery, my car leaks rainwater onto the threshold to the inside of the door seal. to remove the water after it stops raining it is necessary to open the door and let it run out when doing this the water is not coming out of the designed drain holes in the door. when the temperature drops i get ice building up on the door gasket and threshold potentially locking me out or perhaps bending sheet metal. i experienced it once but was able to get in. my wife is 5 ft tall; there is no way she could open the door in similar conditions and she would be stranded. after 7 trips to the service dept with little or no improvement, ford maintains that water build up like this is normal and according to design. i think water and/or ice damage will eventually reduce the structural integrity of the car. i had difficulty getting in the car once due to ice, so prudently have stopped taking it in rain or snow. the car is always damp feeling and musty smelling ( i have allergies) because i think the inner door panels have been soaked repeatedly. i have digital photos available. while appealing to the dealer board, the ri registry official claimed there was no record of complaints such as these at nhtsa, i seek to remedy that oversight. if you contact me i have complete details available. *tr

Driver side window door area has a tapping and popping sound when going over bumps. the window and door area also produces a rubber rubbing sound when it is cold and or damp. the tapping noise goes away when it is warm outside. i have told star ford of glendale many times that the noises are mostly when it is cold. fords q.a.suggested that it could have been from the convertible top or from the assembly line. star ford will not test the vehicle when it is cold out due to their work starting time. by only checking it when it is warm defeats the whole purpose of finding the problem. the service manager told me i should drive the vehicle until the noise eventually goes away and that i have 3 years warranty. help, i need suggestions! ford refuses to work on it any longer. *tr
