| The agency, particularly in recent months, has been informed of incidents involving allegations of personal injury and death claimed to have been caused by safety defects and failures to conform to minimum federal motor vehicle safety standards (fmvss) on rental car vehicles for which a safety recall to remedy the safety defect or noncompliance had allegedly not been performed prior to the rental car company's lease of the vehicle.nhtsa understands that there is presently a petition before the federal trade commission (ftc) seeking to prohibit at least one rental car company from renting vehicles on which safety recall campaign remedies remain outstanding.the purpose of this audit query (aq) is to investigate recall remedy completion by rental car companies on the above-listed safety recall campaigns.these campaigns were chosen due to their inclusion of vehicles used in the rental market.this information is expected to provide the agency an indication of how completely and how quickly rental car fleets, in general or individually, perform necessary recall-related repairs or other remedies on the vehicles owned and then leased for use on the roadways.this aq is opened. | ||||||

| My 2007 ford mustang has had a water leak under the passenger side area that has and is still causing electrical shortage in the car. everytime it rains water gets into the vehicle and causes major damage.ford dealership will not repair it under warranty and my out of pocket expenses to fix this problem would be enormous. this water leak is a tsb on ford's site which means they know something is wrong with the 05-09 models. my car is now out of commision and will not start. i have replaced two batteries over the last year because of the water leak causing shortages in my car. this car is now a lemon beccause of the severe water damage ford has caused my vehicle to receive. i have a vehicle that will not start and ford will not repair without payment. i am sending this complaint so that a recall can be issused so i can repair my car. ford knows there is a major problem and has done nothing about this. this is a $35,000 vehicle and only 5 years old and the engine won't even start. this issue is a major electrical hazard and is a danger to myself and my children. | |||

| My 2007 ford mustang has leaked from underneath the passenger side glovebox since i bought it from carmax in 2008. i took it back but leaks were not covered under warrany. did not realize this was a common issue. now my computer sensors have water damage issues i believe and it is causing me to fail emissions. | |||

| Noticed one day that my rear window what foggy looking while driving to the point you can not make out shapes or objects. cleaned the vehicle thinking it was dirty but not in this case. had it looked at and i was told that it was distorted from bad material or not put together right. it is still a factory window and ford refuses to do nothing with it. now i am having ac problems, warm air blowing on the driver and semi cool air on the passenger side. had greon put in twice and after a few weeks does the same thing again. | |||

| Every time it rains water leaks from behind my glove box and soaks the mats. water also collects in the passenger door. there is a mold smell and my hazard lights flash on there on causing the battery to die. | |||

| Day after a rain a rain storm heard water dripping then i was going up a small hill and i heard water pouring. i looked over at the passenger side and saw water flowing in by the glove box. i pulled over and saw about 3 inches of water on the passenger side floor. droped car off 5 min later as dealer ship is on my way to work found passneger side door seal leaking replaced at cost of 320$ because car was just out of warrenty but miles are only 35250 miles. now my shaker 500 audio won't recognize aux audio. going to bring back and complain. i found this to be a common problem after some research and that ford knows about it. i think this problem is because of the change in the door design with the short drop window and no full frame around the window. what makes this worse for me is my brother has a 1988 mustang x police car that has original seals aand weather striping and has never had a problem at over 100000 miles. | |||

| There is a water leak in the front of my mustang, such that when it rains water comes through onto my feet. due to the structure of the car allowing water to flow in areas that it should not, this caused water to ruin my windshield wiper motor. i had it replaced and my car looked at by two different mechanics who could not find the reason for the water flowing into my car and onto my windshield wiper motor. today, as i was driving in the middle of a rainstorm, my windshield wipers stopped working again, and the motor was shorted out by the rain water. i see there is tsb out for this car and structural issues causing water to flow in the front, but twice now i have been driving in a rainstorm and unable to use my windshield wipers. this caused difficulty seeing while driving which i feel is a very serious safety concern. the water damage has caused me to pay for not only two windshield wiper motors but it is also causing mold/mildew in my car interior. | |||

| When i start my car in the morning, and it is overcast out or has just rained, my shifter will not go into first or reverse. it takes a few minutes until i can force with all my strength the knob into gear. as i am driving though, i still have a hard time getting it into first gear after a stop, and many time cars have had to go around me into oncoming traffic and a few times have come close to an accident. the first dealer i went to in victorville told me to bring it back when it is acting up really bad. i brought it there one day when it was acting up and they told me they would get to it later. i called them a few minutes before they closed and they said they found nothing wrong, so i insisted to leave it and have them try it in the morning. the next day i called right before they closed again and they informed me everything was working fine. when i went to pick it up, i noticed they had not put even a mile on my car after checking the milage. i drove home and on the way home it was acting up very bad so i went back and told them. the guy that runs the counter went on a ride with me and i showed him when it happened and he said he thinks i'm probably not pushing the clutch down all the way and basically blew it off. i was a little insulted by his assumption of my incompetence, so i contacted ford corporate about my issue and they said i should possibly try another dealer. a week later when i was getting my oil changed at a shop, they informed me that my water pump had a large leak. i took my car into the dealer in san bernardino, where they fixed the leak, but once again found nothing wrong with my shifter, and also found that my transmission was leaking. i went to a dealer in san diego when my car was still acting up bad, and they fixed my transmission leak, which took 10 days, but said my shifter was working completely fine. | |||

| Faulty valve stem on 2007 mustang gt. had low air pressure monitor come on. inspected tire and saw that my vavle stem was cracked at the base. this is the second one on this car.these are the original tires. | |||

| I recently saw the report concerning the ford gas pedals being stuck by the floormat. i own a 2007 ford mustang and have experienced this on at least 5 occasions. | |||

| 1) the brakes were squealing and a grinding sound and the car would not stop at a safe distance. 2) it started after the car had 20,000 miles on it. 3)i took it in for the rear brakes and was told the calipers were freezing and causing the brakes to lock. i had the brakes and rotors done but could not afford the calipers at that time. i was told that i will have to change the brakes every 20,000. miles until i replaced the calipers. help! *tr | |||
