There is a water leak in the front of my mustang, such that when it rains water comes through onto my feet. due to the structure of the car allowing water to flow in areas that it should not, this caused water to ruin my windshield wiper motor. i had it replaced and my car looked at by two different mechanics who could not find the reason for the water flowing into my car and onto my windshield wiper motor. today, as i was driving in the middle of a rainstorm, my windshield wipers stopped working again, and the motor was shorted out by the rain water. i see there is tsb out for this car and structural issues causing water to flow in the front, but twice now i have been driving in a rainstorm and unable to use my windshield wipers. this caused difficulty seeing while driving which i feel is a very serious safety concern. the water damage has caused me to pay for not only two windshield wiper motors but it is also causing mold/mildew in my car interior.

2007 manufacturing defect: extensive leaking of water into electrical components. causing lights to go off,or sometimes go on without switching on, windows go up and down by themselves, occasionally motor cuts out on highway, cruise control operates intermittently. eventually this will also result in premature structural damage

2007 saleen mustang,(ford), no rear view. back window is blocked by spoiler and back side windows are replaced at the factory with solid fiberglass. backing up or changing lanes after glancing over either shoulder brings no visual help. this constitutes an enormous blind area and is very dangerous. *tr

Rear window defroster has lines that do not work, this causes rear window not to fully clear of fog or snow and ice. ford will not replace windows, only offers to fix lines that do not work with a electrical paint. *ak

I had to make an emergency trip in my car in august in heavy rain on a mountain. as i traveled the wiper motor began to make a very loud & sickly noise. and the wipers' were functioning poorly or stopping completely. i made it to my destination having been able to get the wiper blades' to work again after they would stop & not work. coming back home down a steep downgrade on a mountain the rain began to pour very hard & suddenly water starting pouring into the passenger floorboard & the windows' fogged & the wiper blades' stopped all together. i had 3 vehicles' behind me on a steep mountain. after managing to find a place to stop on the side without being able to see out at all & waiting out the worst of the rain. i then took my car to the ford dealership & they indicated i had three inches' of water under the hood & the wiper motor was in need of replacement. i had this repair done at a cost of $418 and no indication of what to do to keep this from happening again or any other info. i studied this issue on the internet & discovered that this has happened to a lot of mustang owners'. certain model mustangs' you can find cowl covers' to cover the windshield wiper area which is what the problem is. the holes' in the cowl & around the wipers' are large enough for debris to fill up the ventilation system & then the water has no where to go but inside the car. also the plug under the hood is small and has no real capacity to drain off large tree debris or other bits' and pieces'. i have contacted ford motor co. today because of my ire over this & to find a way to avoid this repair again and today they indicated nothing could be done for a refund or a cowl cover or other solution. they recommended some windshield wiper blade covers'. i think this is a very dangerous and costly and a poor real world design for this car or any car. i park under no trees'. *tr

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 ford mustang. the contact stated that whenever it would rain, water would leak from under the passenger's side of the dashboard, which resulted to an accumulation of water on the floorboard. the vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 150,000. kmj
