I rented a car from thrifty in seattle, and was assigned an almost new mustang. i found it extremely difficult to brake with my left foot without also hitting the accelerator. the pedals were very close and almost same height. i considered the car undriveable. i exchanged it asap, no surprise to thrifty. *tr

Tl-the contact owns a 2009 ford mustang. while parked, the contact placed the gear shifter into drive and the vehicle suddenly accelerated without depressing the accelerator pedal. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostics, where the technicians stated that the tp sensor of the throttle body needed to be replaced because it fractured. in addition, the gear kit and bearings were replaced. the metal filings from the rear axle assembly were also cleaned. the approximate failure mileage was 20,000. sm.

Clutch failure on my 2009 ford mustang gt500 - at 18,000 miles the clutch began to slip while in heavy traffic. i took the car to m purchasing dealer and requested a diagnostic, they indeed confirmed that the car exhibited the problem but informed me that it was a wear item with only a 12 ms/12k warranty. ford has issued a tsb on the clutch and its flywheel indicating that heavy stop and go traffic will warp the flywheel and in turn ruin the clutch and tranmission. ford did nothing to fix the problem (identified in the tsb, nhtsa 10032615 - tsb-09-19-11)
