| I drive a 2012 v6 mustang 2dr coupe base .i was merging into traffic onto i40/i85 when tryed go to second gear when it would not go. i tryed forcing it but was affraid i would snap the shifter shaft so i was forced to slow and then it finally went into 2nd gear. this was the other day 1/12/13. so this is not first time it has happend it has happend several times same thing when you get on the pedal this happens and on occasion it will go into 2nd but will grind.this has happend maybe 10-20 times both grinding and just not going into 2nd gear. so i know this is an ongoing problem with ford and the mustangs of 2011 and 2012 from other muatng owners i have talked to either on forums or in person. when i attended mustang week in myrtle beach sc in 2012 several people had this issue as well. so what can i do? the dealers that i have brought this up to in my area have told me it was the way i push in clutch ( classic response) i find hard to believe since i am 34yro and have had 9 vehicles in my life all manuals and i shift all the same through every gear. my hands are tied cause now my warranty is out. i have my 4yro son who rides with me alot and i am a daily driver of this vehicle and i am concerd of my sons and my saftey. please help. | |||

| The proplem with the vehicle started when i tried to start it. when i turned the key the vehicle took a few seconds longer than usual to start up. as i began driving down the highway my vehicle wouldnt shift gears out of 40mph and caused the engine to have high rpm. when i turned off the engine at a gas station and tried to start it back up. vehicle would not start and i had to get it jumped. vehicle still doesnt shift gears. this vehicle is only 1 year and 1 month old since i purchased it. | |||

| My nephew lost control of his six speed 2012 mustang while driving on mountain road and was killed. he was downshifting into left corner or road then road turns right uphill (like an s shape). perhaps the power train had an issue.? | |||

| My manual trans mustang have shifting problems just like other 2011 and 2012 owners. sometimes it has huge noise going into 2nd gear and sometimes it simply refuses my shifting. please have it recalled after investigation, i am so frustrated. thanks! | |||

| I have a 2012 mustang v6 with the getrag mt82 6 speed transmission with the know issue of notchy shifting and sometimes not going into gear. i have been experiencing problems shifting from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd gear. the problem is that it can be very difficult to actually shift gears. there can be a lot of resistance and are times when i have to force the car into gear or skip the gear completely. the transmission is grinding and resisting changing gears. also, there is a vibration when i let off of the gas while the car is still in gear. and today i felt a grinding while i had the clutch completely depressed. this vibration can and does occur up to 25 times each day during my 40 mile commute. i have stopped by the dealership and inquired about any know issues and was told they are not aware of any. the car has exactly 5000 miles on it. i have owned many other cars with manual transmissions, such as two honda accords and 2 toyota celica's. these transmission issues are of great concern for my safety, the safety of my wife and the safety of our 4 year old daughter. dealing with a screaming child is very unpleasant but every parent becomes accustom too (even thought we don,t like it). but having the issue of not being able to shift gears while driving through a busy intersection and dealing with a screaming child is terrifying. please take a deep look into these concerns. there are plenty of actual videos available to confirm the complaints. ford has done a terrific job. just hold them accountable for this flawed transmission. i just want my new car to run safely. thanks dan w | |||

| 6 speed manual transmission, 5.0 liter engine. while under accelleration the transmission hangs when shifting from 4th gear to 5th gear. the shift into 5th gear will not occur unless the shift is stopped and started again i.e. shift back to 4th and then to 5th a second time. this of course means that the vehicle is not accellerating, which is problematic when merging in traffic onto a highway or interstate in a metropolitain area. this hanging issue has not occurred in any other gear combination i.e. 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd etc. only 4th to 5th. since the first occurance this scenario has repeated itself again and again up to 5-6 times per week. | |||

| As i was turning a corner from a red light i went to shift into 4th gear it would not shift at all almost causing me to crash. this transmission locks rarely locks me out of gears but this time was the worst. i also have many grinding noises from 1st-2nd-3rd gear. one time i went put it in reverse and it popped out. another time i was at a stop light and put it in first went to go and it grinded the gears really loud then it popped out lucky it was at night an no one was behind me. multiple missed 3rd gear shifts as if it is locking me out. this problem keeps getting worse and worse the more i drive it and i only have 1100 miles on the car. this is not fair and this transmission needs to be recalled complete garbage. please do something about this. thank you!!! | |||

| While trying to shift from 1st to 2nd it wont go into 2nd gear, it feels like something is blocking the gear and it also has done it going from 2nd to 1st. during one instance when i was turning and tried to shift into 2nd gear and couldn't i was almost hit by an oncoming car but they were able to go around me at the last second. i also have a vibration in the transmission at around 2500 rpm's. | |||
