Brakes, abs system is terrible, i have never owned a worse vech. brakes pulsate, brought in to have fixed, still did not work, replaced all brakes, still pulsate and you keep going, got worse even on dry roads and was told abs has a problem and ford has not recalled yet. they pulled the abs fuse and i have brakes. this is a dangerous vech. you can not stop imediately. i have gone half way through stop signs and had to drive right or left to avoid vech ahead several times. i had to replace cracked head also in this vech a couple months ago. plattsburgh ford had my vech for over a week and still did not fix the check engine problem, i was told that one of the sensors were bad and even after they took the engine apart they did not put the sensor in. i had to go to another garage and they put it in for me. brakes are a real hazard on this vech. everyone in town that has a ford ranger are having problems with their brakes. i will never buy another one! *nm

SUSPENSION - REAR - SPRINGS - LEAF SPRING ASSEMBLY - LEAF
02/01/2001310/01/1999
The right rear leaf spring mounting was mounted incorrectly by the manufacturet. the mount measures farther back on the passenger side than the drivers side, thus cocking the rear axle to the right causing the truck to ride crooked down the road. currently the truck is sceduled for service on 2/14/2001 to have the rear pinon seal replaced for the third time as it continually blows out due to the excessive pressure. additionally, a transmission leak was discovered and required the replacement of the extention houseing. ford was advised of this problem on 6/2/2000 at 10,128 miles. however my complaint has fallen on deaf ears. the truck was inspected by the reginal field service engineer on two occations and on the second meeting he did acknowledge a problem however indicated that it was an acceptable defect and stated that he would provide a written report to me identifying the defect. to date i have not recieved any written responce. i have been threatened by ford to be quiet about my problem which has resulted in the matter being forwarded to the new jersey attorney generals office of consumer affairs for their action. a complaint was also filed with the burlington county office of consumer affairs on 11/3/2000 case # c2001107/39310 robbins vs. ford motor company. at this juncture ford states that they consider the matter closed and refuses to acknowledge my complaint as a consumer and take appropriate corrective action to repair or replace this defect. i have spoken with an additional 2000 ford truck owner who has experianced the same seal blow out. i will forward all documentation to your office relative to my complaint for appropriate corrective action.*ak
