There is a defect in the side mirrors of the '92 ranger. they lose their ability to maintain position after approximately 2 years of use. i've gone through two sets of mirrors (both sides). my side mirrors collapse when i drive over 45 mph resulting in a very dangerous situation-i have no rear visibility to the sides. i have difficulty changing lanes. i've spoken to the local ford service department and was told that this is a common problem and my best option would be to buy aftermarket mirrors (not ford/motorcraft), unfortunately i have not been able to find compatible aftermarket mirrors. this has been a nagging problem for me as it appears it has been for others. *ak

Consumer states while driving on highway, and tried to change lanes she has to roll down her window to hold the driver's side mirror in place, because the mirrors would blow against the windows causing her to not be able to see, all the consumer can see is the pavement outside of the driver's side door, consumer has tried to find some type of screws to tighten the mirrors but there are no type of screws on the ball and socket mirrors, passenger and driver's side mirror are extremly loose and consumer has been forced to order another set of mirrors from manufacturer. *jb
