I drive a 94 ext cab ford ranger. i just got a ticket for not proper restraints for my 3 and 4 yr olds that were in their jump seats (buckled in) .. i've tried putting a carseat back there and all it did was flop around.. it is safer for my kids without the carseat then with it. my wifes car has carseats in there but we work different hours and cannot switch vehicles when i need to go somwhere whitch is rare because i don't like them riding without proper restraints. i dont feel i should have to pay a ticket for looking out for my childrens best interest..

While adjusting the front drivers seat, the weld between the seat and seat track broke. this caused the seat to be unstable. i went to the ford dealer to have them fix the defect. they would only fix the defect if i paid for a new seat. i explained to them that this is a safety issue caused by their defective seat. the weld shouldn't break under the pressure of adjusting the seat backwards. also, if i ever got into an accident, the seat would not properly restrain me and could cause injury or death to the driver. i am appealing to nhtsa to review this seat defect. i have taken a photo of the defective weld. i'll try to attach it here. if you don't get the photo, then please feel free to email me for the photo and i'll send it to you. thank you for your time and consideration in this matter, greg hammel. *ak
