| Tl-the contact owns a 1995 ford ranger. the contact stated while driving at 65mph a loud dragging noise was heard in the rear of the vehicle and the contact found the fuel tank hanging the fuel did not leak. the vehicle was taken to dealer who inspected the vehicle and found both fuel straps corroded the dealer replaced the fuel straps the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and they denied assistance with the repair because the vin was not included nhtsa campaign id number: 11v385000 component: fuel system, gasoline: storage: tank assembly: mounting. the failure and the current miles was 104,271. li | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 1995 ford ranger. whenever the contact pours gasoline into the vehicle, it leaks out of the fuel filler neck. he examined the fuel system and noticed that the filler neck had prematurely rusted in certain areas. the dealer stated that there were no aftermarket parts for the filler neck. the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. the current mileage was 100,326 and failure mileage was 100,200. updated 06/17/08. *lj | |||

| I have a 95 ford ranger. the fuel filler neck and hose has become defective to the point where gas pours out the bottom of the vehicle when i put gas in the truck. i took it to a local shop (not a ford dealership) and called several other places and was told by everyone that this part is not sold after-market, and you can only buy it from ford. i was also told that many ford ranger owners are looking for this same part. i was very surprised that ford had a monopoly on this part given that it such a key safety component. i am being forced to purchase a ford part just so my truck won't leak gas, and i don't understand why it's leaking gas in the first place. that's a basic safety feature! i understand that all vehicles need repair from time to time, but i should be able to put gas in my truck without fear of fire from the leak. *tr | |||

| When consumer got into his vehicle, he noticed the smell of gasoline inside of vehicle. stopped at a mechanic shop and mechanic looked under truck to see if there were any leaks. what he saw was spray of fuel coming from vehicle. after putting vehicle on a lift, mechanic discovered that gas line between tank and the fuel filter was distorted, and went into fuel filter. there were holes there. gasoline could spread to muffler and tail pipe for potential explosion. *ak *slc | |||

| The consumer discovered a gas leak about three months ago. since he is a certified mechanic, he examined his vehicle and found that fuel was leaking from the filler hose. the filler hose was soft and deteriorating and the gas was leaking from the cracks in the hose. the cracks have become larger and now more gas is leaking. the consumer is afraid to drive the vehicle because of the fire hazard. the consumer contacted the manufacturer who stated the there was nothing that could be done because there was no recall on the filler hose. *nm *la | |||

| This is the second time this component has failed. component cracks at attachment to fuel tank allowing fuel to spill out of tank.last component failed only after 17 months. when a vehicle burns up is only when ford will fix problem. dealer says part warranty is one year. come in and buy another one for $100. | |||
