Traveling along i95 at 65 miles per hour in traffic, heard a bumping noise, pull to side of road saw that the right front tire went flat. just purchase four set of tires from cella ford in oct of 2000. upon returning home went to cella ford spoke with service technician who informed me they were not a tire dealer take it to buffalo tires who would check the tire and tell what was wrong. went there told me nothing was wrong had no idea why it went out. had to purchase new tire because rim rubbed against the tire inside causing outside to separate. contacted cella ford service depatment told him what was said and he insisted that something had to be wrong with the tire, that it just didnt go out by itself. i explaine the gentlemen insist they could not find anything. with lack of concern for my safety i find it necessary to replace the remaining tires. will never purchase firestone again.*ak (dot number: 8xfc80m389 tiresize: p225/70r14)

These were original equipment tires and, after about 30000 miles, i noticed the truck lurched upon take-off from either a stop or slow speed, as well as a worming motion going around corners. the dealership assured me this all was normal. i got a flat (the front left) while hunting and, upon taking it to les schwab for proper repair, was told the tread had separated. the plug was stated to have been the cause of the separation. i then purchased four new tires. since these tires have been on my truck, the normal lurch is gone. i have been told by others that tread separation can cause a lurch the same as what i was experiencing. these wilderness at tires were not part of the recall. i do not have the dot numbers of the tires, though i am sure the dealership or ford would have them on record. i do not know if les schwab would still have the tires that i had replaced.  On may 18, 2000 i had a blowout of a front tire on a clear stretch of suburban road. when i went to change the tire, i found the metal threads had come through the tire. there were no objects in the tire and there was nothing visible on the road that i would have run over. i took the tire to a tire company in the atlanta area and it could not be repaired because of the amount of damage. the weather conditions in atlanta, ga were hotter than normal for may on the day of the blowout. i was driving approximately 50 mph. i have very low mileage on the ford ranger truck, less then 21,000 miles. the tires were the original ones. the truck has not been used for any type of heavy hauling. *ak (dot number: w2fc tiresize: p225/70r14)

I cannot get any answers regarding this size tire, p215/75r15. i already know that firestone is not replacing this tire however if you could provide me any information regarding the number of accidents related to this tire and make it would give me the decision to either change out the tires or keep them because it does not relate to the current recall. i ask only because i have a five month old daughter and i want to protect her the best i can however i am also not the richest person in the world and the cost of the tires is more than i can afford until probably next month or so. your input would help me tremendously in either speeding up the process or feeling more assured that taylor is safe in our truck. again, any support of information will be appreciated.*ak( dot number: tire size: p215/75r15 )

My seventeen year old son was driving home from work on sunday, september 26, 2004 in his 1997 ford ranger pick-up. he was headed east on i-240 when his truck suddenly began to swerve out of control. he somehow managed to bring his vehicle to a stop safely, without a collision. after getting out to inspect his vehicle he found that his right rear tire was the cause. the tire, a firestone 14 with plenty of tread, had separated (ie. the tread had separated from the tire). the tire was still completely full of air even after this separation. the separation of the tread caused severe damage to the truck (approx. $1700.00). there was no collision and the tire did not blow out, the tread just peeled off for no apparent reason.

Going approximately 40mph on a curve on an on ramp, i was told that my tire separated from the rim due to low air pressure. i had not been having any problems with the tires up to this point. when the accident happened, it caused me to lose control of the vehicle and swerve right and left several times. on at least two occassions, i felt the vehicle starting to tip over. i was able to keep the vehicle under partial control and finally was able to stop the vehicle. when the vehicle came to a stop i was facing the opposite direction. i had done a 180 degree turn. i was able to get the vehicle over to the side of the ramp. as i was pulling the vehicle over i noticed something wrong with the tire. upon inspection, i noticed the left front tire was off the rim and messed up. i feel lucky to be alive! i noticed upon checking the confirmation information, i put that i have a 4 cyl vehicle, mine is actually a 6 cyl. *ak( dot number: ? tire size: p225/70r14 )

Firestone or ford should recall these tires. my tire blowout occured on a interstate junction (i-85n to i-77n, in charlotte, nc) at high speed (60mph) and sent my truck into ditch. i didn't think much at the time (since tires do blow out sometimes) but after the news reports that ford and firestone have known about the faulty tires for over 6-8 years, and only seem to care if fatatilities occur, i was very displeased and now want to file a comlaint to replace all 5 firestone wilderness tires on my truck. i plan to buy new tires and will wait for a recall of some sort to refund my money. not to mention the fact that i walked away from the violent blowout and subsequent crash, others were not as lucky. thank you, scott pagan. *ak( dot number: )
