| Dt: problem occurred on 6/2/05 when the wire that hold the spare tire on the vehicle broke and the tire fell to the ground. owner was driving down the road going around a corner about 5 mph. no previous problems with vehicle. regularly maintained. *ak consumer is not making a complaint but is just reporting a safety hazard in the design of the spare tire holder.*sb *nm | |||

| Problems with vehicle's ball joints and belt tensioners. *mr the consumer expressed a concern about the air bag needing a deactivation switch, the consumer was told by the maryland state police the air bag was dangerous on the passenger side for small children and short people. *scc the consumer talked about two vehicles in the complaint a 1992 ford ranger and a 1999 ford ranger, the 1999 ranger was in need of a air bag deactivation switch and the 1992 ranger had belt tensioner and idler arm problems. the consumer no longer owned the 1992 ford ranger because it was lost in a flood *jb | |||

| There is 3 or 4 recalls on my ranger and i was never notified of any. with the tires i tried to do something and they told me there was nothing i could do because i changed the tires myself to something else before i even new they may be problems. i also own a 1998 ford escort and could not pull up that model can you tell me if there was any recalls on that one. thank you.*la | |||

| Vehicle was going 55mph and the engine started racing. rpm's shot up to 6 on the gauge. vehicle acceleration stop, and there was no throttle control. brakes were not affected. the abs, over drive ,and engine check light illuminated. consumer got to a local gas station and diagnostic reading read rear sensor was malfunctioning. the dealer was not notified. please provide more informtion.*ak | |||

| Oil gauge sticks in cold weather, it will eventually work. there is a bump/clunk in rear end on initial acceleration and vehicle shakes at 70+ mph. *ak | |||

| I had made my first appointment after signing the papers, purchasing the 99 ford ranger. i thought these things can be taken care after the first appointment. i had gone by the dealership 4 times, and can't get any of these taken care off. 5800 miles later, i still have these problems. the body shop manager said he isn't set up like the manufaturer, and the service manager is full of i'm sorries. larry kramer is the engineer representative with ford. i have asked the dealer to replace the vehicle , they said i am sorry we already got your check from the bank, and we would not be able to replace this truck. larry kramer would not give me any straight answers. he was ready to fight, i do'nt know what to do with this truck . i am concerned for my safety! *ak | |||
