Defect Summary | The arc welds on the sway bar bracket, where it attaches to the strut reserve tube, did not fuse properly. | |||||||||||||||
Consequence Summary | Over time, a portion of the bracket can tear away from the strut, falling into and puncturing the tire or causing damage to the wheel, which could result in an accident. | |||||||||||||||
Corrective Summary | Monroe dealers will replace the strut free of charge. | |||||||||||||||

Consumer states when driving more than 30 mph she loses control of vehicle, the vehicle was taken into dealership and upon inspection of the vehicle it was determined that a precision alignment could not be performed on the the rear driver's side wheel because there was a defective part, consumer has contacted manufacturer, this indicates a manufacturer's defect, therefore consumer is requesting reimbursement for the cost of repairs needed to resolve problem. *jb | |||
