| Tire failed after 30185 miles. tire store where purchased claims separation is typical as he has a bin of separated tires for all manufactures at his building he could show me. tire center i dealt with:bob's tire & auto service, 7991 w grand river, po box 1765, brighton mi 48116, (810)229-7005. one of the other 3 tires is cupping in the center where the other 2 are not (the service center claims this is from improper rotation), dot on other cupping tire is u8ur c17397.i refused to have a single tire replaced, as i want all tires replaced and will go to another tire service center for the work. *ak (dot number: u8urc17407 tiresize: p205/65r15) | |||

| Front springs broke twice while driving vehicle and tire was sliced/ went flat each time. vehicle collapsed towards street. part of spring was sticking out. contacted manufacturer, and spoke to lisa 2209. was informed dealer will call to replace front springs. rear springs replaced 1/01/ front springs back in 1998.*ak both rear springs were broken and the right spring was rubbing tire. later on, the left front spring broke causing the tire to blow out. this incident indicated that the design was flawed. *yh | |||

| A few days ago i discovered the right front tire appeared to be low on air. i had all four tires replaced on 8/25/2000 with goodyear american eagle p205/65r15 at wal-mart in baytown, texas. the tires were due for rotation and balance, so i had wal-mart in baytown, texas perform the regular maintenance and check the front right tire for a leak. after the mechanic removed the right front tire from the rim he discovered a crack on the inside surface of the tire. the crack ran perpendicular to the direction of tread. the crack ran across the tread area and up into both sidewalls. the crack was not visible on the outside surface of the tire. i looked at the tire and there appeared to be a slight mold indentation in the crack area. i contacted goodyear's consumer information service and provided them with the same information. they accepted the information but advised me that this was a wal-mart problem. wal-mart replaced the tire in question at no expense. i visited wal-mart yesterday 12/23/2000, and spoke to the store manager and mechanic. they agreed to check the remaining three tires for problems next week. the mechanic was going to try to locate the tire that was removed and store it for examination. the interior tire damage was very unusual. i'm not only concerned about the safety of my tires, but also the safety of other peoples tires. it may be a good idea to try to get hold of this tire for examination. please contact me, if you have any further questions or comments. *ak (tiresize: p205/65r15)( dot number: tire size: p205/65r15 ) | |||

| Where do i start, this car has been a money pit from day one! the brakes had to be completely replaced 3 days after we bought the car--signature ford claimed it was are fault after some argument they finally reimbursed us for the brakes. we discovered a small leak, we found it to be coming from the heater hose. we decided to trust signature ford, they claimed that we needed a new heater hose, water pump and radiator. we took are car back to the first mechanic who looked at it and he swore that those things were not leaking when they left his shop, no proof though so we haven't filed a complaint against signature ford. we have since replaced the heater hose and water pump. we are taking the radiator in to be checked out very soon. we had the starter replaced at signature ford, since it was fixed the keyless entry stopped working. we've had the brakes complely fixed, three times. we have had the oxygen sensors replaced. the airconditioner will not work, we were told that we need a new compressor and clutch. there is a short that causes a fuse to blow, resuliting in loss of gauges. one of the back windows will not work. the molding around said window does not fit properly. the power steering makes a strange noise and sometimes does not seem to be working; we took it in to signature while under warranty and were told that it was fine. when we first purchased the car the tires that were on it were too big resulting in excessive wear. the current tires show signs of excessive wear on the inside front passanger tire. the transmission has been totally rebuilt, the tech. who fixed it said that this is typical of sho's. the fog lights sometimes fail. the lamp out light comes on even when no lamp is out. the check engine light comes on sometimes during acceleration. the door ajar light comes on and goes off at various times. if we had known then what we know now we never would have purchased this vehicle. we cannot afford all of these costly repairs! * | |||

| Blowout of left rear tire on 93 ford taurus in september 1998. we still have the tire, but not the tread. the tread separated completely from the tire and flew up on the side of the car causing damage. the car was going about 45 mph at the time of the blowout. fortunately, the driver and passenger were not injured, although the experience was very frightening. the accident took place in colorado during a trip. the car was licensed and registered in texas. this was the last of several problems we had with firstone tires within a short period of time in 1998. we put four new firestone tires on another car (a 1984 volvo) and had several flat tires and a blowout. unfortunately we no longer have the tires because they were under warrantee and replaced. we saved the tire from the taurus' blow-out. thank you for collecting this information. *ak( dot number: dothyur16a tire size: p205/65r15 ) | |||
