Hello, i own a 2001 ford taurus and ever since the beginning of this summer, i have noticed that the driver's side floor board is constantly damp. i don't know if this dampness is coming from when it rains outside or if it has something to do with the a/c drainage hose being clogged. either way, i find this as a safety concern as major cords are underneath the carpeting and i feel unsafe knowing that water is collecting underneath the carpeting, making those cords wet, which could spark an electrical fire. i really would feel much safer getting this problem fixed but i have no idea where to begin. i truly believe this is a safety concern and would really like to get it fixed, if only i knew where to begin. thanks for your help with this matter.

Water leaks into the passenger floor board on my 2001 ford taurus. in researching it on the web i found a link to this site. it just started a few months ago. i found another complaint 10184014. this site said to mention recall number 03v087000. as widespread as this appears to be i feel that ford should cover the design mistake. *tr

For the past 4 years i have had continuous leaking in my vehicle on the passenger side of the car. i purchased this vehicle brand new and have been the only driver. everytime it rains my floor has a puddle of water on it and it takes days for it to dry. i have had to replace my fan motor blower 4 times and i use a towel to wipe the humidity of the window since the heater doesn't work well due to all the moisture. i recently discovered that i wasn't the only one with this problem and decided to report it here. *tr

My 2001 ford taurus has been leaking water into the passenger side floor board. it only happens when it rains and it actually leaves a puddle of water on the floor making the carpet smell and collect mold. this is turn, the water is also collecting in the blower motor casing and filling up causing the blower motor to stop working. i used to be able to bang on the blower motor casing to help the water leak out of it and once the water did leak out the blower motor would work, however it is now winter time and getting below zero at night, i went to take my son to school in the morning and the blower motor would not come on at all, leaving us with no heat in the vehicle and actually causing a driving hazard as the windows fog up and freeze instantly, i almost got into an accident with my son in the car...this was very scary and i want some answers as to why this has not been recalled on these cars. i have read up on this and this is happening for years with several makes and models but mostly on the ford taurus'. i now have to replace the blower motor and find the leak...before it happens again. *tr

The paint on the exterior of the trunk door under the license plate is peeling. the cosmetic blemish is about 18inches in length and 3-4inches high. i have contacted ford motor company, customer relations division at 800-392-3673 about this issue; i spoke with a front line representative named kevin whose employee id is 61151, he assured me this is not a manufacturer defect and to take the vehicle in for servicing at my closest ford dealership, he also stated ford motor company will not pay for nor provide financial assistance for the repair of the cosmetic blemish; i then proceeded to ask for his supervisor i was assured several times that the supervisor would give me the same response and was then given a reference number of 0482120158 and transferred to ron (41004) who again asked me what the issue was and upon further investigation ron said indeed this was not a manufacturer defect and said he would not overturn his employees decision about not providing the repair or assisting with the cost of the repair he assured me no one would overturn his decision and i was going to have to repair the vehicle myself with no assistance from ford. i thanked him for his time, told him i would file a complaint with the nhtsa and requested a call back from the next highest form of management, he said i would receive a call back within 2-5 business days and said good luck trying to get anything out of ford. *tr

First of all my wife came out to the car after work to find out she had a dead battery. i jump started the car and she drove it home. i then replaced the battery, thinking it was about four years old and it might need to be replaced. she then drove it home. five days later she noticed that the blower motor wasn't working. i checked the fuses and they were ok. i then called the ford dealer and told them what was going on. they made an appointment to look at the car and discovered the blower compartment was filled with water causing the blower motor to short out. when the blower motor shorted out it also caused a drain on the battery, which caused the dead battery. i asked the service tech if i had the motor replaced would i have the same problem four years down the road again? he told me that they have made changes in the seal and also have put in a drain to prevent this from happening again. now that tells me if ford has made changes to the blower motor compartment they are aware of the problem. i contacted ford complaints department and got nowhere with them. all they said was they were sorry for the problem. i feel that if ford was aware of this problem it should be fixed at no cost to the consumer. *nm

2001 ford taurus has premature and excessive corrosion. transmission leak taken in for repair and shock of nearly depleted lip on the frame holding motor in place. one good bump and what was left of the lip would have given way dropping the motor and i would have lost my 21 year old son, possibly my handicapped 23 year old son, their friends or girlfriends that often travel in this car. i have kept the parts. we are still in the repair mode as the rear stabilizers are also in corrosion and need replaced. car will also need realligned afterwards. i too have been told of the failure on the minivans for same things. i understand other ford products have been coming in for the same parts failing. i have the young inexperienced driver that i believed would be more safe in your product. my children are my life!!!! i see so many of these cars being driven and people unaware of the danger that lerks beneath. by the grace of god the car leaked and got my son off the road in barely the knick of time. it makes me sick to look at the piece so close to devastation. do something about it!!!!!!! someone needs to let people know of this danger and now before we lose our precious most valuable thing in our lives, our children!!!!! what else is lerking under there that i am not aware of? it is bad enough worrying about the idiot drivers on the road. now i'm worrying about serious car failure too. signed: mother of owner of faulty product.

My 2001 ford taurus has been plagued by premature and excessive corrosion. i have previously filed for the coil springs snapping in half- now my frame has failed. while driving my car started swaying- i held the steering wheel tightly but the car wandered on it's on. upon inspection of the vehicle at home , it was obvious that frame failed. when the vehicle was inspected by a nys facility i was told that excessive rust was an issue. i was also told that they see this on the taurus regularly and have failed vehicles due to this issue. i contacted ford , they said out of warranty. they do not sell replacement frames and suggested i purchase an aftermarket frame and have repairs done. this is a huge safety issue. i have been driving for 37 years and was able to recognize that there was a safety issue with my vehicle, young new drivers without experience will continue to drive these vehicles. i am requesting that the nhtsa look in to the premature failure of major components in the taurus due to low grade material use. the ford company was required to recall minivans with this same issue- yet the taurus which ford says is one of its best selling vehicles has been completely ignored when it comes to safety and customer satsfaction. if this vehicle were manufactured by toyota it would have been recalled years ago. shame on the powers that be that allow this situation to continue. the car has not been repaired as new oe parts are not available, used parts are not an option due to the fact that they also will be rotted beyond use. i had a 1940s dodge parked in a farm field by a previous owner that had less rust than this vehicle had when it was under 5 years old. what does that say about quality?
03/30/2011175000
Tl-the contact owns a 2001 ford taurus. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds he would hear loud noises coming from the front of the vehicle. the vehicle was then inspected by a dealer and they advised him that front sub-frame was rusted and needed to be replaced. the vehicle has not been repaired due to the part not being available. the failure and current mileages were approximately 175,000. the vin was unavailable. tb

There was very little warning to the failure. the vehicle drove fine until one day it developed a clunk in the front that was worse than the several that were already there. about this same time the steering began to feel sloppy as well. when i looked under the car the front sub-frame was rusted to the point where the a-arm disconnected itself from the sub-frame. the front of the a-arm is now floating free. this is the cause of the steering slop. the only way to fix this problem is to replace the entire sub-frame. this is the frame that holds the engine, transmission and suspension to the vehicle. the vehicle is no longer safe to drive.

The engine cradle, or subframe on my vehicle completely rusted into, the frame rusted from the inside, showing no obvious indications on the external, visible part of the frame, this incident came without warning, until the front control arm mount broke loose from the frame, while my wife was driving down the road, causing her to loose control... the body is solid with no rust, and vehicle is kept under carport... *tr
