In the past three months, i have experienced a sticking accelerator 8-10 times while driving my 1995 ford taurus. while at speeds in the 35-40 mph range, i become aware that the car is accelerating; when i take my foot off the accelerator the car continues to slowly accelerate. applying the brake does not relieve the condition, and it is very difficult to bring the car to a stop. shifting from drive to neutral results in the engine running up to more than 4000 rpm. on some occasions, tapping the accelerator pedal several times clears the problem, and the engine goes back to a normal idle speed. on other occasions, i have had to go into park and turn off the ignition key. when restarting, the engine seems to act normal. my local garage diagnosed the problem as a fault in the cruise control. i have had them disconnect the cruise control. in checking on-line, it appears this problem has occured to a number of others with the same car.

My 2005 ford taurus accelerates on its own every so oftern. when it accelerates, i try to brake, but the car vibrates very badly and does not want to slow down. when i do get it slowed down enough, i pull into a parking lot. i put it in park and the rpm's jump to 4 or over. i floor the gas a couple times. this seems to correct the problem, but it keeps happening every couple months for about the last year.

Power transmission problem with my 2005 ford taurus, and my air conditioning unit which has not worked since march of 2008. i contracted ford main office in dearborn mi. about the problem with no effort to help. at the time of the initial problem i had 68,000 miles on the car which i bought from a dealership in march of 2008. i am really disappointed in ford and will never buy another car from them again. i have spent over 2000.00 on powertrans problems which started in july of 2008. my car stayed in the powertrans shop from july-dec of 2008 and because i had no more money to invest in this car i have not been able to use my air conditioning since owning the car. i hate summer driving for that reason. please review and note my complaint. if there is anything i can do to get my air conditioned fixed please let me know. *tr

We bought an 05 ford taurus in june of 05. the car has a poor ventilation system. you have to turn the control panel knob to max a/c to cut outside air from getting into the car. otherwise if want heat or a/c you have to breathe polluted air into the cabin of the car. this a health hazard and design flaw in this vehicle. their have been no accidents, deaths, crashes, fires, property damage, but possible health problems from breathing in outside vehicle exhaust which i think is very hazardous and should be addressed by ford and it's design team. please do something to make this company responsible to their customer's. *nm

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 ford taurus. when it rained, water would leak through the bottom of the floor on the front passenger side. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that the leak was related to the cabin air filter. the technician installed a rain hat and cover to correct the failure; however, the failure continued. the failure mileage was 15,000 and current mileage was 19,800.
