 Their is a pressure pad in the passenger seat to either allow or not allow the airbag to be active and this is not working the air bag is active all the time the seat can be empty and the airbag light will only briefly light up when starting car but go off right away indicating the airbag is active i had my niece in that seat and it did not deactivate and she is 45 pounds if you do not pay close attention to this you will not know you have a issue when your seat is empty the airbag off light in the radio cluster should light up and when a person heavy enuf to activate the air bag sits down the light should go off. *tr

 Tl- the contact owns a 2006 ford taurus. the contact stated that the seat belt assembly failed. the in addition, the airbag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel indicating that the airbag was deactivated. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the seat belt buckle assembly needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified and provided no assistance. the failure mileage was 59,900. kmj

 Tl* the contact owned a 2006 ford taurus. the contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph, the brake pedal was engaged without any response. the vehicle unexpectedly increased acceleration up to 40 mph. the vehicle then crashed into a cement wall. the air bags failed to deploy. the contact sustained two broken legs, thirteen broken ribs and also suffered from other internal injuries. a police report was filed. the vehicle was destroyed and towed to a storage facility. there was currently an open investigation associated with nhtsa action number pe12005 (vehicle speed control: cables). the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

 Tl*the contact owns a 2006 ford taurus. the contact was driving approximately 50 mph on normal road conditions. the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. the warning indicator remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. in addition the horn was inoperative. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing. the failure was contributed to the clock spring. there is a massive back order on the required repair part. the contact was placed on a waiting list. the earliest availability for the part was february 2010. there were concerns of the safety risks involved and the uncertainty of the repair part. the failure mileage was 39,000. the current mileage was 40,000.

 Tl*- the contact owns a 2006 ford taurus that was involved in a crash, and the frontal air bags didn't deploy. the contact was driving on the highway at a speed of 65 mph. at the time of the incident it was raining and the vehicle slid into the rear end of another vehicle and a second vehicle rear ended the contact's vehicle. the contact stated that prior to incident there weren't any warning lights indicating that the airbags were malfunctioning. three people were injured as a result of the crash. *ak

 Dt*: the contact stated that the front driver air bag deployed and passenger air bag exploded while the vehicle being immobile but running. the windshield was fractured due to the explosion of the passenger air bag. the vehicle has not been inspected by the service dealer.

 Tl-the contact owns a 2006 ford taurus. the contact was cut off and had to swerve to miss the vehicle. the contact was traveling 35 mph when they lost control causing the front end of the vehicle hit the gaur rail with such force, that the vehicle slide across and hit the other guard rail head own again. the seat belts did not lock and the air bag did not deploy. this failure caused the contacts head to hit the windshield and their chest to hit the steering wheel. the vehicle was towed to the dealer and the dealer stated they think their was a failure with the relay to the air bags, but could not explain why the seat belts did not deploy. the vehicle was destroyed in the accident. the failure mileage and current mileages was 113000.rl

 The front airbag sensor on my 2006 ford taurus has failed and is outside the vehicle warranty. the dealership refuses to replace the failed sensor at ford's cost. the airbags have never deployed on the vehicle. *tr

 Tl*the contact owns a 2006 ford taurus. the contact stated that the air bag indicator light illuminated intermittently and the service engine light remained illuminated. the mechanic performed a tune-up; however, the lights remained illuminated. in addition, the driver's side power window would go down but would not rise up. as of december 27, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle. the failure mileage was 25,000 and current mileage was 77,000.
