 Tl- the contact owns a 2004 ford taurus. while driving at approximately 40 mph the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own. the contact placed the gear shifter into neutral and was able to stop the vehicle. the failure occurred three different times. the contact stated the failure would occur within 24 hours of using the cruise control. the cruise control was not activated when the vehicle accelerated. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic. there was an investigation for the 2005 ford taurus under nhtsa action number: pe12005 (vehicle speed control:cables) that may be related to the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 180,000. ds

 Tl-the contact owns a 2009 ford taurus limited. the contact stated that when sitting idle with her foot on the brake, the vehicle's rpms would jump to 4 or 5 and then surge forward. the vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer nor repaired. the manufacturer has not been inspected. the failure mileage was approximately 39,000. tb

 Tl-the contact owns a 2009 ford taurus x. while driving approximately 5 mph he engaged the brakes and the vehicle continue to accelerate. he engaged the vehicle into neutral and the rpms continue to increase. he shifted the vehicle back into drive and the vehicle later stopped revving. he called the dealer and they advised him to bring the vehicle in to be checked. the vehicle has not been taken to the dealer because the contact does not feel safe driving the vehicle. the failure and current mileage were 6,371. vwb

 Tl-the contact owns a 2009 ford taurus. while driving approximately 30 mph in cruise control the vehicle stalled. he stated the check engine, oil and battery light illuminated on the dashboard. he coasted to the side of the road and waited a few seconds and the vehicle started as normal. the failure has occurred a dozen times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they could not duplicate the failure. he called the manufacture and the dealer installed a vehicle data recorder. the contact stated the dealer has replaced a fuel pump and a relay. later the dealer replaced the fuel tank, and then the throttle body. the contact stated that the dealer had the vehicle from july 7, 2010 thru july 21, 2010 and they did not experience the failure. he stated that he was still experiencing the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 2,500 and the current mileage was 6,350. vwb

 Tl*the contact owns a 2009 ford taurus. when the contact attempted to apply the brakes, she noticed that the vehicle was accelerating by itself. she reached for the accelerator pedal, but it was stuck to the floorboard. she was able to lift the pedal back up and depressed the brake pedal. the dealer has not yet been notified. the vehicle is currently at the contact's residence because she is afraid to drive to the dealer. the failure and current mileages were unknown.
