| Tl*the contact owns a 2002 ford windstar. after starting the vehicle one morning, all of the instrument panel lights illuminated. the contact took the vehicle to a dealer on two occasions, but they were unable to determine the cause of the failure. one month later, the speedometer and fuel lights stopped illuminating. the contact was unable to determine how fast he was driving or how much fuel was in the vehicle. he took the vehicle back to the dealer and they replaced the acm module. they also replaced an instrument panel sensor, which repaired most of the failures. the abs light and traction light are still illuminated. through research, the contact found numerous complaints of other consumers with the same vehicle that were experiencing identical failures. he believes that this is a manufacturer defect and a recall should be issued. the failure mileage was 100,000 and current mileage was 126,000. | |||

| Vehicle was off and parked. smoke from under vehicle. disconnected battery to stop fire. fire at the connection of the abs computer at site of two 40 amp circuit connections caused abs system to stop working. abs and brake light are on all the time, speedometer stopped working, odometer stopped working. i have detailed pictures of the damaged part 2f1z-2c219-ba connected as part of 1f22-2c346-ac. code c1185 was present in the abs computer prior to the fire. *tr | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2002 ford windstar. while driving 10 mph, the traction control light illuminated and sounded a warning. the trac off, abs, and brake lights also illuminated. currently, the lights illuminate whenever the vehicle is started and remain lit the entire time while driving. the dealer stated that there are tsbs for these failures. the current mileage was 59,835 and failure mileage was 57,510. | |||

| Dt*: the contact stated while braking from 10 mph under normal conditions, the vehicle surged forward, almost going over a curb. the vehicle was taken to a service dealer, where the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. the manufacturer was also notified. there was a squeaking noise when the sliding door was closed. the consumer complained of the transmission slipping, the dealer reprogrammed the pcm and re-filled the transmission fluid. the shifter was re-adjusted. the vehicle pulled to the right occasionally, the speedometer was inaccurate. the headlights would go dim at times. updated 01/09/07.*jb | |||
