Abs and brake lights keep coming on. cruise control not working. speedometer, odometer and airconditioning have also stopped working. due to short in the cruise control disable switch aka brake pressure differential deactivation switch located under the master cylinder caused from brake fluid leaking onto it. this in turn blew the #10 fuse. this switch is covered with brake fluid and could start a fire at any time. i have stopped driving it until i can replace the switch and clean off the brake fluid.

Everytime i feel my gas tank up it spits gas out at me. i cringe at the thought of pumping gas. i let it go pretty low before resorting to a gas shower. as soon as i start pumping (s l o w l y) it will start immediately. there's more gas on the ground then in my tank! so pathetic!

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE - FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM

Getting lean code p0171 and p0174. dealer analyzed and from what i can tell it's tsb 03-16-1 (nhtsa sb# 16920) i have searched the internet (as you can) and it's a widespread problem (i know 2 other people personally who may have it). it is my belief that there should have been (or should be) a recall on this defect. in my case, the van will lose rpm's, then rev up on cold startup. when it does this, the van executes a jerking motion which to me could be dangerous. in other cases, it will stall or nearly stall at traffic lights. *tr

Cel came on..blew 02 sensor code. replaced. few days later cel came back on now with p0171 and p0174 codes. this is a massive know problem from doing an internet search and also searching this site even under other windstar years. this is a very costly expensive and seems to be quite involved and there needs to be a recall on this. *tr
