Defect SummaryForest river is recalling certain recreational vehicles equipped with dimplex electraflame, symphony, or optiflame branded electric fireplaces, stoves, and fireplace inserts. the plug in remote control receiver for the fireplace can overheat.
Consequence SummaryAn overheated receiver could cause a fire.
Corrective SummaryForest river is working with dimplex and dimplex will provide owners a free replacement plug-in remote control kit. the safety recall began on january 28, 2011. owners may contact dimplex north america customer service at 1-888-346-7539.

Defect SummaryForest river is recalling certain my 2003-2006 motor homes, fifth wheel and travel trailers equipped with a two-door refrigerator manufactured by the dometic corporation. the refrigerator may have a defect in the boiler tube. pressurized coolant solution could be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) is present.
Consequence SummaryIf this solution is exposed to an ignition source under certain specific circumstances, it can result in a vehicle fire.
Corrective SummaryForest river is working with dometic to repair these refrigerators (please see 08e032). dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. dometic has retained stericycle inc. to manage this campaign. stericycle will assist the owner in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or forest river at 1-574-389-4600.

 Tl* the contact owns a 2005 forest river flagstaff sunseeker. the contact complained about tires and brake system failures. while driving between 40-50 mph, she felt a vibration which originated from the driveshaft. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who then sent it to the company, who determined that the failure was the crank shaft sensor. the dealer refused to perform the repair because the sensor was altered by the manufacturer. the vehicle was not included in any recalls. the failure first occurred five days after the vehicle was purchased. the current mileage is 25,820 , and failure mileage was 25,000. *ak the consumer stated the dealer will not cover under warranty due to the fact frame has been altered. the consumer provided multiple pictures of the defects. the dealer stated that the cruise control light will not display on dash. the dealer also stated that the high beams lights and light switch are not working properly. the dealer stated rear right side trim is too short and fresh water fill leaks. the consumer is stating would like dealer to perform the repairs under warranty. updated 07/06/07 *tr

 Dt: 2005 forest river flag staff 831bhss. the wiring caught on fire, causing the electrical brakes to lock. the trailer and the vehicle 2004 gmc, yukon flipped over. the brake wires were exposed because there was no protective covering on them. consumer was driving at 60 mph when this occurred. there were no other vehicles damaged. there was a report to the police and witness to this incident. insurance agency said that it was due to faulty wiring. *ak the elecrical wiring for the brake system rubbed on the metal crossbar, cut through the wiring and shorting out the braking system which then locked up. as a result the trailer swayed out of control. *nm

 This is a factory recall on refrigerator by dometic not forest river i call the recall line and the recording tells you the are busy and call back and push # 9 , i do and all it does is hang you up. my refri. is on the recall list and according to their mailer it is dangerous and not to use it. i want to talk to them to get it repaired but how when they have the phone rigged to hang you up . please help. thank you. *tr

 The incident was a tread separation on a fifth wheel camping trailer. i had been traveling on a highway and the felt a bump. i stopped to investigate and found that the tread separated on one of 4 tires on the trailer. the tires had about 8000 miles on them. some damage was done to the underside of the trailer. i put on the spare and proceeded home. kenda, the tire manufacturer is not listed on your site. *nm
