Defect SummaryOn certain class a motor homes built on either a ford or workhorse chassis, the power feed for the fog lamps may have been mis-wired.
Consequence SummaryNormal use of the fog lights could cause the diode in the radio circuit to overheat and possibly cause a fire. owners are asked to not use the fog lights until this situation is corrected. although the georgetown motor homes were not equipped with fog lights, the wiring for the fog lights is in the dash harness, and therefore, contains the defect.

Defect SummaryNavistar is recalling certain model year my 2001-2008 workhorse w20, w21 and w22 chassis and certain model year 2009 through 2011 monaco rv admiral, arista, monarch, and riptide recreational vehicles equipped with axles that include bosch zops or zoht pin slide hydraulic disc brakes. when combined with occasional or seasonal vehicle operation may experience calipers sticking in the applied position. this can result in abnormal heat generation at the wheel end causing brake drag. the driver would normally have warning of the brake drag if undetected by the driver.
Consequence SummaryThe temperature increase at the wheel end can eventually lead to soft pedal conditions due to brake fluid boil, and possible extended stopping distance increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective SummaryWorkhorse dealers will replace all four bosch brake caliper assemblies free of charge. the safety recall began on september 16, 2010. owners may contact workhorse at 1-877-246-7731.

TIRES - TREAD/BELT
06/25/20052
Blew two carlisle tires (st225/75r15) within 100 miles!! 2002 forest river sierra 5th wheel. tires/pressures/trailer load checked before departure. tires not +or- inflated, & trailer was loaded light for trip: indiana to daytona, florida. 50 miles into trip, right side rear trailer tire blew apart. our speed was 53 mph @ 6 am, no oncoming traffic. damage to trailer. we were able to stop safely and call aaa for assistance. installed spare tire, drove to a big o tire store, 25 miles away, purchased a duro tire to replace the spare that we just put on the trailer. big o tires said first blow out caused the rim to be bent; this new tire was being mounted on a rim that was no good. replaced when we get home; use for emergency spare only. we were back on the road at 8:45 am, figuring the worst was now behind us. but 60 miles further down the road, 10 am, left front trailer tire blew out, and this time it happened on a major interstate, in heavy traffic. our speed was just 62 mph. we used the tire we just purchased (on the damaged rim), and panicked about what could happen next. daytona was still a long way off... and we'd already lost 2 tires. i called our rv dealer & told them that two tires failing for no apparent reason is no coincidence: (one tire had <3000 miles; the other had <100 miles!) he said save the bad tires. now we are too shaken to continue driving on carlisle brand tires. we stopped at another big o tire store, and had them replace the other two tires with non-carlisle tires! we still had one carlisle tire on, so the entire trip to florida and back was spent looking at the side view mirrors, watching for tire trouble, which meant we couldn't drive in dark: basically waiting for the last carlisle tire blow. drive took twice as long, since we could only drive during day, storing 4 bad tires the entire trip. if you have had similar fate with these tires, contact us. nhtsa won't do us any good. liane brummett, indiana 812-825-8699.*ak

We were traveling approx. 60 mph when our travel trailer carlisle tire exploded. was able to safely pull over to change the tire, but the tire tread came off and caused considerable damage to the travel trailer underbody, along with scuff marks on the outside of the camper. the camper is a 2002 salem/forest river 29rlss the tire is a carlisle st225/75r15, load range d with less than 1,200 miles on them after internet investigation and the problems i've seen with this particular tire, they should be recalled, and damages to the camper should be paid for. forest river says they can't help us cause we're the 2nd owner and warranty has ran out due to this. carlisle nor goodyear have responded, but am expecting the same results.*ak

I pruchased a 2002 forest river georgetown motor home from sun coast rv in brunswick ga. i took the motor home into jacksonville dealer to get some minor things fixed. the seal around the windows has shrunk and allow air to come thru the window. the tech at suncoast applied silacone around the window and said that that would take care of the problem. i noticed about 6 months ago the seals had shrunk again allowing more air to come in. i recalled suncoast in jax to alert them of the problem and to see if they can fix the problem by replacing the seals. they have told me that it was not under warrenty any more. but since i had the motorhome in there during the warrenty time period it still should be under warrenty. this has been going on now for over 1 1/2 years and it is still not resolved.*ak
