| Defect Summary | Forest river is recalling certain my 2003-2006 motor homes, fifth wheel and travel trailers equipped with a two-door refrigerator manufactured by the dometic corporation. the refrigerator may have a defect in the boiler tube. pressurized coolant solution could be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) is present. | |||||||||||||||

| Corrective Summary | Forest river is working with dometic to repair these refrigerators (please see 08e032). dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. dometic has retained stericycle inc. to manage this campaign. stericycle will assist the owner in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or forest river at 1-574-389-4600. | |||||||||||||||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2004 forest river wildwood. the contact received a recall notice for the dometic refrigerator. he stated that the remedy to repair the issue was not satisfactory because it stated that a heat shield would be placed over the tubing, which would only contain the fire. the remedy would not prevent a fire. the contact is in the process of taking the vehicle to be repaired. the manufacturer stated that replacing the heat shield would be the only thing they would cover. any additional failures would not be covered under the recall. the vin and failure mileage were unknown. | |||

| Own a dometic refrigerator in my rv. at the time the boiler cracked, my refrigerator was not included in recall, now that it is included, dometic will not fix it because my warranty is out. the recall letter does not state any information about having a warranty at this time on the product, it is there defect, not my problem if it took them so long to figure it out. the point is my boiler cracked and leak which could have caused a potential fire, now since my warranty is up on my refrigerator dometic will not fix it even though it is listed in the recall. i am not satisfied with this issue. will have to look in to taking further action it they can not resolve this. *tr | |||
