Consequence Summary	A failed steering gear arm could lead to loss of vehiclecontrol and vehicle crash.
Corrective Summary	Install a nonadjustable 1500 psi power steering pump pressure relief valve to limit steering arm forces. replace steering arm with a design capable of withstanding higher forces. adjust maximum poppet valve settings to 500 psi and adjust axle stops.

Defect Summary	The handhold mounting system, which consists of a tubular handle held in three places by cast aluminum brackets and attached to the engine exhaust muffler heat shield. vibration from this system causes the handhold parts to wear. consequence of defect: if the parts wear thin the possibility exists that the handhold might give way under the weight of a driver. this could result in personal injury.
Consequence Summary
Corrective Summary	Replace the end brackets with a modified design utilizing a rubber isolater. also, add a plastic sleeve to the center bracket for isolation.

	Foia request all records, rpts , investigations, photo graphs, statements, and other things/documents re a 1984 freightliner conventional flc, my 1997-2001 conventional flc, 1992 mgs model 6200 explorer sprayer trailer. ts the driver was driving down hill when he attempted to apply the brake to slow for an upcoming intersection. upon doing so he found that the brakes were failing and that the vehicle was picking up speed. the driver reached the intersection and steered left around a stopped vehicle and began to skid sideways across the road. the vehicle overturned along with the trailer and came to rest on the east shoulder. nm
