 Had two breakdowns concerning brakes, brake pedal would not engage, engine raced and then tried to apply brakes again, pedal went to the floor all wheels locked up.

 Investigation report submitted for the front flexible air brake hoses on the state of connecticuts, dept. of transportation, freightliner fl 60/fl-80 business class (1997-1999). the front brake hoses are leaking air due to the fact that they are double fabric braided, rubber lined and are very stiff, constant movement of the steer axle is weakening the hose and results in air loss on brake applications, and left in place will eventually completely fail. *mjs
