New trailer tire sidewall failure. i purchased a new carry-on cargo trailer two weeks ago. i took a trip down to oregon last week. just south of wilsonville, or, the sidewall of the passenger side tire blew out. the trailer had approximately 700 pounds of cargo, so it was not overloaded. the new tire had less than 150 miles on it at the time, and we were travelling at 60 mph on the i-5 freeway. the tire had a sidewall failure with a 6 inch tear. no personal damage occurred and we did have a spare. the tire is a carlisle sport trail bias plied trailer tire. the size of the tire is 205/75d15. the dot id is aq12 dot aqul 0811. end of report. |
