Tl-the contact owns a 2008 gmc acadia. while driving at approximately 45 mph she was informed by the passengers in the rear seating that the middle row of seats on the drivers side and middle were coming unlatched at the base. the vehicle was pulled over and she reattached the seats. a child safety seat was secured by the latch system in the middle row drivers side seat during the failure. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where she was advised to purchase a new child safety seat because that was the cause of the failure. she purchased a new child safety seat but the failure continued to recur intermittently only when the child safety seat was installed. the vehicle was taken back to an authorized dealer on numerous occasions where they were unable to diagnose the failure. the failure mileage was 20,000 and the current mileage was 30,000. sm.

I purchased a new 2008 gmc acadia in sept. of 2007 and i have had several problems with is sense buying. the biggest problem is my second row of seating it has a 60/40 split and the 60 portion pops up all the time even when an adult is sitting on it. i have taken to two different gmc dealerships 7 times and no one can find anything wrong. i even contacted gm's main office and they said they can not do anything until the service dept. finds a problem. their only suggestion was to take it to a third dealer and see if they can find what's wrong. i feel that is a very unfair to me because that just means i have to drive further to find a dealer and waste more time on something that should have been fixed a year and a half ago. i have 3 kids and they can not even sit on that seat because you never know when its going to catapult them up and into the back of the drivers seat. we can't even put our youngest carseat in the seat. this has just been very upsetting and i am tired of dealing with gm and the salesperson i bought the car from is the one who suggested i contact you. again we bought this car brand new. the other things that are wrong is i still have water leaking in the top of the drivers window when it's sitting during a hard rain,, my fan motor for the a/c and heat goes up and down all by it's self and paint is peeling off the hood. these are things i guess i can deal with but the seat has got to get corrected. i hope you can help, thank you and look forward to hearing from someone. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 gmc acadia. the contact stated that the middle bench (60/40 split) had an issue where the 60 part would constantly pop up towards the driver seat. the issue was noticed every-time someone sat in the vehicle. a 164-lb man was sitting in the seat and was lifted while the vehicle was in motion. she had to sit her child seat on the 40 part to avoid injury of her child. she took the vehicle to two different dealerships a total of seven times. the dealership could never find anything wrong with the vehicle that would indicate a cause for the failure. the manufacturer told her to take the vehicle to another dealer which she had an appointment set for 11/06/09. the current mileage was approximately 29,000. the failure mileage was approximately 5,000. updated 11/17/09 *bf updated 11/1/8/09
