Water water water leaking in vehivle everywhere. dripping from rear overhead lights, rear back-up sensor, around emergency brake, a-pillars are soaked, pooling on driver side floor. water and electrical = nothing but problems and more problems. this is now our second acadia in the last month first was a 07 which water was also leaking from even more areas (opened overhead dvd and water just poured out). that vehicle was fixed per tsb yet problem never solved it just continued to leak. dealership bought it back once they found us a different acadia which i now have a 08. they said they found out that the 07's water leaking was a major issue but not with the 08's. well we signed the papers on march 1st and no suprise water leaking everywhere by march 10th. i contacted gmc and was told to have it diagnosed and then they will pass it on to some other department claim specilist person to see if they can help. oh yeah and found out from gmc that the tsb for drain tube extensions has already been done on vehicle. i am hopefull that gmc will take care of this issue at their expense. ---with the first vehicle, after water issue started my wife would be driving and the power seat would move all the way forward and she could not stop that from happening. she tried to hit the button to stop the seat from moving but it was non responsive until the seat was all they way forward. my wife as very long legs and said if she would have had to make any sort of emergency manovers she would not have been able to. if gmc does not reslove this issue i plan on start the process of a class action lawsuit for all affected acadia owners.

Purchased a used 2008 gmc acadia slt1. we have had it for six days. within those six days we have had water rolling/rushing around our roof liner, water pouring out of both front airbags and under dash, water pouring out of the back dome lights, rear video sensor, and back seatbelts. both front floor mats saturated with water as well as the carpet underneath. it is to be noted that all of the water pouring out has been witness while driving. this is clearly a driving distraction especially to a new car owner who is not expecting this at all. a driver is not supposed to have any driving distractions while driving. this car was designed with a lot of safety features however water leakage and pouring out of spaces has been greatly over looked. last night while driving at night in the rain, i had water drip onto my hand from the driver's airbag which took me off guard as i was not expecting it. this was a distraction. we have put our basement room dehumidifier in our acadia in the garage on this sixth night to help dry out all the water in the carpet and we are sure in the roof liner to hopefully help with any mold that may have started. we have two sons undercare for evironmental allergies and one with asthma. this vehicle cannot be good for him. we now are stressed worrying about what future problems we are going to face from the water damage we can see and that we cannot. the upper electrical components (i.e. lights, dvd player), the blower under the dash and other interal dash components, and the most serious are the airbags. will they now work? this has to be the biggest safety concern for gmc. we now have a big false sense of security regarding the air bag deployment in the event of a crash. we cannot comprehend that this has been allowed by our national government safety agencies since 2007! why?

I own a 2008 gmc acadia. water leeks from the roof of the car coming in through the sun roof and then leaking through the top cover of the ceiling down onto the third row and down through the front beans where the fuse box is. i have contacted gm multiple times they gave me a referance # of 71-941161425 they continue to say that my truck does not fall under the recall even though they have recalled the same model and year for the exact same reasons. this has the potential of shorting out the fuse box while driving making this truck unsafe to drive the the potential of mold build up. i ahve a 15 month old daughter that is supposed to ride in this and the last thing i need is water from the cieling driping on here that has gone through the mold that has built up inbetween the roof and the cieling cover. gmc refuses to do anything about this stating that is out of warenty. if this fuse box shorts out while we are driving and causes an accident where bodily harm is done gmc is directly responsible for it. i have bought this car recently thinking it would be safe and i was wrong.

I noticed that when driving on an expressway and would attempt to pass a slower moving vehicle, as i would move into the passing lane and attempt to accelerate, the car would hesitate for a few seconds, lose speed, then suddenly downshift and accelerate at an unexpected rate. i also noticed that the car would unexpededly accelerate or decelerate under normal driving conditions. i bought the vehicle to the dealer for repair, they responded that they could find nothing wrong, but the what i was experiencing was characteristic of the 6-speed transmission on the vehicle. the problem continued and i found it dangerous. i returned the vehicle and the dealer's remedy was to reset the transmission computer. during this time, i also noticed that the service stabilitrac and traction control warning would come on. onstar recommended i shut off the engine to reset the system. i found this only happened when i first used the car in the mornings to go to work. again, the dealer said there was nothing wrong and the computers were showing no codes -- they also stated that they could not duplicate the problem. i got the car back from the dealer and it happened again - at 7:00 am. i called onstar and they gave me two codes. i bought the car back to the dealer and gave him the codes. it now seems that there were two defective sensors controlling the stabilitrac / traction control system and how they communicate with the transmission. i was told that gm is changing manufacturers on the sensors. i have not had use of the car since the beginning of june and am still waiting for gm to produce these parts. in the meantime, unexpected acceleration, deceleration, and gear shifting was occurring under all driving situations causing -- in my mind -- a danger to myself, my passengers, and others. the dealer has had the car on five different occasions since june 8. this last service they have had the car since july 20.

On aug 9th after leaving san bernardino ca.. i was driving up the cajon pass to return home. i had the car in cruise & gave it some gas so that i could get up the grade because there was a car behind me that was fairly close. as soon as i gave it gas the car lost engine power & i had to move over to the shoulder. the car came to a stop & i was unable to get it restarted. i thought it had overheated but looking back on the situation. i don't think that was the problem .i attempted to start the engine again after sitting for several minutes & it stalled again. i sat for several more minutes, tried again & it started .i stayed on the shoulder until it gained speed, & i was able to drive home.on tues. i called the dealership & they had me tow the car in.they were unable to find anything wrong with it. this is the only time i had a problem with the car.

This is in regards to the window seal on the driver and passenger window. it holds water in the seal and has a very strong offensive mold/mildew odor. each time you roll down either window the smell is so strong that your allergies are immediately affected. i don't think it is healthy to constantly smell mold when you're driving your vehicle. i took it to the dealer a couple of times and they agreed that it was horrible, but only suggested that i take an air hose and blow out the trapped water. that doesn't work because each time it rains or you wash your vehicle it smells again. i hate driving a newer vehicle that smells like a molded trash container. i would like a better solution for this never ending problem.
